The dufus on the landscaper's mower who 1) didn't have his roll cage lifted into position above his head and 2) thought he could get away with cutting across the still very wet steep hill on the backyard neighbor's yard. He rolled his machine, with him on it, down the hill and came to rest on the machine's "side" against our fence.

Luckily, he was able to tuck himself into a ball to escape serious injury, but from the way he easily tucked himself, it would seem this isn't his first tumble.

yanno...would it be so bad if the mower got him in the zipper of his Levi's? Fools like this should never breed.

I can still recall the boob who set up a metal tri-pod to photograph a lightening storm...on a hill...wearing jeans with a metal zipper. You can imagine the rest [8|]

When I was telling my mom I had to fill out papers for my psyche eval and one of the questions was about if I was sexually abused as a child.  She said, "Well, I don't think that really affected you at all.".

It's good to know after all of these years her head still fits so nicely in the sand.[8|]  I still love her though.

HEY!!!!!!!!  Wait a minute, are we related, sleazy? Your mum sounds like mine. No, wait, your's actually acknowledges that it happened. Even when confronted with proof and an admission, my mom still denies anything happened. Says I made it all up. Now, if you ask about our childhood, she'd have you believe she was "June Cleaver" with a dash of Donna Reed, and not the town alcoholic slut that she really was. [8|]

Hey, just like my ma
that woman can kill a box of wine in under 2 hours
and I still want to hire someone to bolt her knees together...

wonder if we should arrange some sort of group to round em all up and force them into detox :D

sappatoti -> RE: What has made your eyes roll today? (6/10/2009 7:44:01 AM)

The operator seems to be OK. Once the machine was righted he managed to walk away but he did appear to have a bit of blood trickling from a cut in his cheek (facial, not assial). He was escorted off the property and, presumably, to the ER to be checked out. Another operator took over for the tumbler after the machine was checked out to be OK.

The fence is fine; nothing that couldn't be pushed back into place. It's one of those white PVC fences and, given that it's been heated up all day thus far under the Florida sun, became quite pliable. The sections that popped out of place have already been pushed back in.

Sleezy, my mom is like that too,  She also thinks that if she was abused horribly in her childhood and didn't resort to manslaughter or criminal behaviors than you should be able to go through hell to and not break mentally or pyche wise.

My dad also too, we were discussing smoking and the difficulties some people had in stopping and he said that's a pure cop out, I stopped cold turkey and I did not...........* what ever reactions others had* And if I could do it cold turkey  so can all those other smokers out there.  My mom for example said she was teased horribly in school and molested her entire life, and SHE didn't get a gun and take it to school, so the kids who did because they were horribly picked on are idiots. The people who're mentally broke because they got molested are some how  not  alowed to be messed up in the head because SHE was raped over and over and even got a child from one of her family rapes, but SHE didn't go nutty

I have given up trying to explain that every one's make up is different, and what one is mentally capable of handling, does not mean the other person will handle it well too.

They'er both very much the kinds of people that if something bad that happend to them or something they coul d quit cold turkey didn't affect them it won't affect others going through it, and it's all a cop out if you say it does affect people differently.

My mom always tries to say look at you kids, you were abused and mis treated when we adopted you* and we suffered abuse from her too after our adoption, but we don't tal about that* and you  turned out fine, and one time I told her, no mom I did not turn out fine. I have a ton of emotional scars, that affect my ability to function as a normal adult sometimes.

Rain...do you have any pineapple juice? Or at least warm salt water?

My advice...since you have allergies and it could be post nasal drip related (or could be related to a cold that has not presented yet)...try a squirt of nasal spray to clear your sinuses and see if it improves in a few hours. If not...get thee to a doctor for antibiotics.

Sleazy...this is HER issue...not yours. The denial is probably secondary to guilt...and it is her problem. You have enough on your plate as it is.

Hug!

I can relate. Denial is not just a river in Egypt in our family. My mother is probably rolling in her grave that she has yet to be canonized.

Again...their issues are not our issues. And isn't this why we are not around them?

Will pink grapefruit juice work? I got some of that and a huge thing of Gatorade to slug down for hydration. (Salt water makes me puke, even if I don't swallow it, too many bad memories of it.)

And I've been on allergy meds with no results. I'll give it a few days and then holler at the doc for ABT's if necessary. Remember, we have that meeting tomorrow - I want to be sure to completely expose and contaminate certain THINGS and RR's if I'm really sick.  *whistles innocently*

Aylee -> RE: What has made your eyes roll today? (6/11/2009 6:57:47 AM)

What has made my eyes roll today?

Knock on the door.  I answer it.  Hey lookie there!  It is a guy in a Smokey-the-Bear hat!

Me ~ "Yes?"
Smokey ~ "I need to see so-and-so"
Me ~ "What?  Who?"
Smokey ~ "Darryl [something]"
Me ~ "I have no idea who that is."
Smokey ~ "He lives here."
Me ~ "No.  No he doesn't."
Smokey ~ "Where is he living then?"
Me ~ "I don't know, I don't know anyone by that name."
Smokey ~ "Does he have a job?  Where does he work?"
Me ~ "I don't know."
Smokey ~ Something about serving papers and how I am supposed to cooperate otherwise it is some sort of offense.
Me ~ "Really?" with raised eyebraws and a toothy grin.  "I have no idea who you are talking about."
Smokey ~ "Darryl [something] lives here.  I have his address right here."
Me ~ "No, no he does not."
Smokey ~ "It says right here that his address is" proceeds to rattle off address.
Me ~ In my most condecending voice: "OH!  You want directions.  Okay.  Kentucky Street is a block East.  Have a nice day."

Shut door.

Somebody needs to teach Smokey how to use Mapquest and read street signs.
