NPR reports oil could soon fall to below $60, and gas below $3 a gallon.

Already has in some places here.  Paid $2.89 yesterday.  And this is a metro area, not out in the country where demand and prices are usually lower.

People are'nt buying cars, there is a glut of them about awaiting buyers, people are not using cars as much, the prices are low. I intend to buy a fully functioning diesel car for about £150, mileage, about 62k, it is old, but at 62k for a diesel it's hardly worn in. Buyers market for cars now, and I am glad I sold my ford focus last year and got a good price for it, now, forget it, it won't sell for what it was worth. I am also on an extreme low income, I have been for the last three years, the result of which, I feel I am better equipped to ride this economic storm better than most, as I know how to live cheap, and still have a life. I live with what I have, not credit, I don't use credit, I exist on what I have in reality.

Up until sometime earlier this year, the price of gas in relation to the price of oil was right around $1.00 per gallon of gas for every $40 per barrel of oil. Thus as the current price of oil (currently at $78/bbl) we should be paying $2.00 (or slightly under) per gallon. So needless to say....we're being hosed BIG TIME!!

I'm just happy that I saved $20 on a fill up when I got gas today.

Just wondering FDD,but how did you arrive at those numbers?Particulary the $30-$50 dollar a barrell for crude.

As far as the barrell price, it is... a speculation but sound since the would is awash with crude oil at the moment.

Just a quick blurb on the news, so no details.

It is below $3 a gallon here now.  In fact, I saw several places it was $2.75 a gallon today.
