I love some of the comments.

He still thinks he's a prisoner in Korea?

WTF? Is he the Manchurian Candidate or something?

It's all a mystery. BTW, it was the Nam, not Korea.  Korea's the place he wants to annihilate.

Well, we're all prisoners to fate's cruel design. He's not going senile! He's simply acknowledging that all any man can do is scream silently in the face of ultimate terror as we realize the futility of our actions. Yay!

Did you see that one of the commenters said 'Impeach'. WTF?
If this country deterorates into a third world nation, it will be Clinton's fault. Every president since he got a blowjob has had a group trying to fucking impeach them. Both sides - give it up, people. GG. This one is not even in office yet, or even the front runner. He's the losing canadate and someone wants to impeach him.
Impeachment is for something more serious than Freadan slips are blowjobs. There are an awful lot of Constitunal experts who think Nixon was probably not impeachable. So, give it up. Vote, then take the prez we get, and bitch alot. It's what made this country great!

That was weird.

When I was watching the last debate he did something similar. He was answering a question that was completely unrelated to the 700b bailout and right in the middle he said "and some of this 700b will end up in the hands of terrorists". It was really strange, I just blinked and thought WTF??? I played it back for my son and it was so strange, his comment was that it almost came across like some kind of subliminal message.  It's like his subconscious mind just blurts things out. It's very bizarre.

Ok I found the transcript. I don't know why I felt compelled to look for it. I just found the whole thing to be so strange I have to share.

McCain: I think you can work on all three at once, Tom. I think it's very important that reform our entitlement programs. My friends, we are not going to be able to provide the same benefit for present-day workers that we are going -- that present-day retirees have today. We're going to have to sit down across the table, Republican and Democrat, as we did in 1983 between Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill. I know how to do that. I have a clear record of reaching across the aisle, whether it be Joe Lieberman or Russ Feingold or Ted Kennedy or others. That's my clear record. We can work on nuclear power plants. Build a whole bunch of them, create millions of new jobs. We have to have all of the above, alternative fuels, wind, tide, solar, natural gas, clean coal technology. All of these things we can do as Americans and we can take on this mission and we can overcome it. My friends, some of this $700 billion ends up in the hands of terrorist organizations. As far as health care is concerned, obviously, everyone is struggling to make sure that they can afford their premiums and that they can have affordable and available health care. That's the next issue. But we can do them all at once. There's no -- and we have to do them all at once. All three you mentioned are compelling national security requirements.

It would be much easier to take you and your posts seriously if you didn't feel the need to resort to grade school name calling.

I hadn't caught that one about the $700 billion ending up in the hands of terrorists before.
McCain scares me.
I think it's not only his age but I believe he is on some heavy duty meds which affects his ability to think and speak coherently.

To be fair to McCain, it's not the same $700 billion. He's not talking about the bailout money ending up in the hands of terrorists, but the annual $700 billion that we spend. It's just a coincidence that the two numbers are the same. I have no doubt that some of that annual expenditure has the possibility of ending up in terrorists hands but I'd rather see evidence of such rather than hear talk about it.

You're right Bita, however that doesn't seem to make any difference to the decided Obama supporters. Know what I'd like to see? An American voter who can admit that his chosen candidate has flaws, and that the other guy has his (or her) good points as well....well a guy can dream can't he?

I think you could make a good drinking game for his speeches.  Take a drink every time he says "my friends".

Yeah, what the hell? Every single president after Clinton has had to deal with people crying impeachment! There's Bush, and...and...wait...there's Bush, and then...before him, there was...um...yeah! Every single president after Clinton! All one of them! And what have all those one president done to deserve impeachment? It's not like there's a long list of incompetence and atrocity one could make. Unless, y'know, they hated freedom.

But even so, what does it have to do with what he was saying. I really don't get it. It seems like a random thought just thrown in.  It was very strange when it happened, and it's strange to read too.

and to Arpig- yeah I support Obama, but I'm late to the party. I was undecided until quite recently, but after watching the debates I made up my mind. I just didn't think McCain addressed the issues with specific plans as well as McCain did  and I agreed with Obama on the way he wants to do more things. Pretty simple.

To get even more specific, I think he was referring to the part of our annual expenditure that goes toward imported oil ending up in the hands of terrorists.  But he's wrong even in that.  Only about 15% of our imports come from the Middle East, almost exclusively Saudi Arabia with a small portion from Iraq.  Considering one is supposedly an ally and we occupy the other it's only pointing the finger at our own incompetence.

Reason enough not to vote for him.  If I have to listen to him say that in every other sentence for the next four years my head is going to explode.
