I am watching the debate now.

McCain looks haggerd, worn out, and very ugly tonight.

It's not looking good for him at all.

 (Sorry, can't help it.)

I think you're right.  But remember, politicians go negative for one reason and one reason alone...it works.  Mudslinging is the American voter's dirty little guilty pleasure.

Did anyone catch when McCain said something like "and part of this 700 billion dollars may end up in the hands of terrorists", right in the middle of answering a question about which problem he would tackle first. He was in the middle of talking about how we could handle them all at once and then he just threw that line in that had no relation to anything else he was saying, and then went back to finish his answer. It was really weird.

I'm watching on CNN and the uncommitted Ohio voters lifeline is pretty telling: McCain isn't being successful there at all so far with his attacking (and he's tried quite a few tactics). He's come close to loosing it about three times: the man is toast.

That puzzled me too.

it sounded a bit disjointed...but his point was that we are currently providing 700 billion dollars in aide to countries (which McCain believes are not supporters of the USA....be that politically or idealogically).  He made reference to the 700 billion dollars as a way to fund tackling the problems because one of the premises of the question was that due to the current financial crisis the govt cannot afford to tackle all these problems and must prioritize.

Maybe it was totally innocent... maybe not...

But did you notice that McCain talked personally with each and every person in that town hall who had a question, calling them by name... except one?

One of them, he barely even aknowledged, and began talking to the rest of the hall.

She seemed to be waiting for his address, but then sat down rather awkwardly, realizing that he wasn't talking to her at all.
