Thank you Holly... my family was posioned and it took a long time to get over it. The landlord wouldn't do anything and I called the gas company out to check the heater and he told us to get out right then. We had no way of knowing and the only thing we were experincing was headaches during flu season and everyone was sleeping constantly. Too close a call.

In the trade I read a story a few years ago went like this.

Every time you turn on a TV there is static electricity, and there was a fine black powder accumulating on the screen. Some yahoo told the people the picture tube had a pinhole leak (which is impossible I assure you) and the owner ordered the TV out of the house, put it on the porch. Later, I guess it was under warraty and they had to call a real technician, and he told them that there is nothing wrong with the TV, but they had better have the furnace checked out.

They poo pooed the idea and sent him on his way. The next morning everyone in the house was dead.
