As far as punishment, mods don't have the time to check every photo and mess with ISPs.  If it is proven to them that a violation has occurred, I think removing the photo satisfactory corrects the violation.

CC may very well be correct in that CM possibly has its own sanctions. But that is not for us common - and not so common - folks to know; nor any of our business.

I only ever report obvious profiles... like the one guy that had Lindsay Lohan up... strangely enough, he was on here complaining about fake profiles.

Then again... how do you know the actual porn girl isn't on this site? I know there are a few.

I am sure there are some, but i quickly filter out profiles using either very small pictures scaled up to fit the imageholder, pictures shown to come from other sites (text or logo over the picture) although this one might be believable a little longer and finally pictures of known porn actresses from one of their photoshoots (some even with the logo still on) ..

I have photos of my girl on our profile, largely because she is more fun to look at than I am, and have been accused of "being a fake" because somone else had stolen her picture and claimed to be her. This person insisted that she get on cam to do a private "show" for him to "prove you are real, not a fake" I just laughed and blocked him.

It should take proof that it is not the person, because my slave's profile gets accusations all of the time. On another site they require a verification photo where you have a pic taken with a small sign that has that sites URL and the date on it.

I have over the time reported several uses of people using pictures for their profile which does not represent the actual person, but instead is stolen of some other website, often from a known pornographic site..
From those i have reported, after looking around the site for the prober way to report these (which does not exist), the message i have gotten back was that the picture had now been deleted..
I don't really find this punishment sufficient, since all it would take for the user, is to upload a similar fake photo once more and the persons which might be in contact with this fake personality would probably never figure it out. Instead i was hoping for some more severe punishments, the smallest being a deletion of the account and not just the picture and in more severe cases (perhaps at continuous misuse) a ban of the ip-adress, so these fakes could be dealt with..
The fact that the only punishment i have been aware of is the deletion of the picture has also made me not go the long distance with every fake profile i have found, since finding a matching picture from one of the persona's website and hereafter finding a way to get in touch with an admin or moderator, for me, does not pay off..

What are your experience on this area? Have you recognised pictures on here and reported them or ignored them, and what do you think the appropriate punishment should be?

I find that having hobbies and friends is much more fulfilling to me.

Really, do you NOT have ANYTHING better to do with your time?

Why use the word punishment?

For my input on this topic.  I have tried many times to use a pic that I have seen countless others use.... they get away with it.
But for some reason one Mod, who tends to "like me" says, its against TOS and when I point out profiles who violate the TOS the mod says I am ..... oh well ... another mod let it slip by.

No equity, just what ever mod who is looking seems to think.

I also thought it was against TOS to advertise messenger contacts but its used everywhere.... unless of course I might do it and the same mod would "punish" me.

Well, if you see a profile with what you know is a fake photo, you probably bet the person behind the profile is fake too, possibly another player, wannabee or other sad individual. Which of course is not very nice for everyone else on this site, and the person when they find the person they have been chatting with, is a waste of time, thus eroding the confidence that there are honest people on this website.

What to do about the fakes, well, if it were me in control I would block the IP address, as posting copyrighted material without the originator's permission can bring this site a lot of trouble, not to mention the person in the photograph who might not like the knowledge that their likeness is associated with a site like this, in the case of celebrities, they have good legal teams and could bring a ton of shit down on here.

My photo, just in case you did think it was someone famous, it's not, and I post new ones quite regularly, and I suspect there will be more after this month, after the .dark. has gotten over her shutter release finger syndrome.

It seems that i might not have been quite clear in my first text..
I wasn't thinking on the pictures on collarchat, but instead on collarme.. forgot that the two sites are only somewhat connected..

Why do you even care -that- much?

I get accused of being male all the time. I refuse to go buy a webcam or jump through hoops just to prove myself to be an actual real girl. I think its altogether ridiculous that people get that worked up over someone's picture.

Now if you are planning to meet that person or if they are using YOUR pictures without permission I can see being upset about it. Otherwise, why waste your time policing the internet?

I actually stumbled across a profile with a picture of Johnny Depp in it. *grin*
Now, for the untrained eye it would have looked like a normal bloke.. But me being such a Depp addict I spotted him right away and reported the profile.

But seriously.. You cant get too upset with people trying to pass their time and working on their virtual acting skills. Spend your effort on something more pleasant!
If bad comes to worse, just shut down the computer for the night and try with fresh eyes in the morning.

SB

What happens if it was in fact Johnny Depp who made the kinky profile and he was on CM looking for a hookup? Would you have felt bad?
