I hope this doesn't belong in the off topic section.  If it does, I apologize.
I'm wanting to change my look.  I can no longer wear the high spike heels that I once did (and still love) and I'm looking for something that is still fetishy and "domme looking", but more comfortable.  Yes, I realize that you can be a domme in your pajamas if you want, but I'm talking about things like parties and events.  It also helps put me in the mood when I'm having a session.  Any suggestions?

You might try platforms. The problem with heels is often the rise between the ball and the heel. Platforms enable you to have the elevation and the heel without having such an extreme angle of elevation between the ball and the heel. Even with MS, I have one pair of sandals and one set of platform boots that I can wear for most of an evening, and session in.

Isn't it a kitten heel that looks like a stilleto, but is only about 1" high?   You would have the look of a stilleto without the extreme height to contend with.

just my  2 cents, its not what you wear its how a Domme carries herself , sure the visuals are fun  too . I have seen Dommes wear leather and jeans  and boots , high Victorian , Gothic ,  ultra formal . a long skirt  some flats  and a white  long sleeve shirt ,take your pick . How about a suit or suit look with  skirt . or if all else fails  jeans a t-shirt and blindfold them .

from my experience its usually the pro's who wear the fetish clothes...ive never seen a non pro wear leather....unless at a club.  i also rarely see pictures on cm of a mistress in leather.

I'm going to second the platform suggestion.  My back is screwed up (plus I tend to walk on the back/outside of my heels) so spiky heels are a no go for me.  I have 2 pairs of platform knee-high boots that give me height, but are quite comfy.. I can wear them for hours (especially if I put those gel inserts in) with little problem.

I wear very high Victorian style intricately laced leather boots by a German company called Fromme, they are orthopaedic and have built in stabilisation panels which stop me falling over. Without them I would have to wear casts as I have suffered leg and foot damage due to riding accidents.Might I also reccomend Doctor Marten boots, which have welted soles with built in air cushions, very sinster, very fetishy, but incredibly comfortable, I'm reliably informed that they taste nice too. They also breathe well in hot weather and last forever. -LadyLove

Actually, I have ALWAYS worn fetish clothes whenever I had the opportunity.  First as as sub and now as a domme.  A lot of the leather in my closet was bought years and years ago when I first started out as a sub.
I have tried the lower heels and platforms and those are both good suggestions.  Doesn't quite give me the look I want with a dress, but it's better than flats.  I have also tried the Doc Martens, but my feet just weren't made for them.  I was very disappointed because I too had been told they were extremely comfortable.

I'll have to look up this company.  I'm unfamiliar with them, but your desciption sounds like something that would greatly appeal to me.
You are all coming up with some very good ideas!

I'd have to agree, many non-pro Dommes do wear leather or some similar shiney black sensual garb.  Many do not.  It's all in your personality and what reflects who you are - or want to be.  I certainly agree with the idea that it's about how you carry yourself more than what you are wearing... but we all like to look good, and sometimes the wrong outfit can keep someone from approaching who might otherwise adore you.  Dumb, yeah, but true.  It's hard for me to suggest much more than what has been mentioned here as a substitute for heels without knowing what you look like or how you used to dress.  But if ya wanna go shopping and model for me I'll be happy to give you my opinion. :o)

Wear what you dig  should be the bottom line  but also  look good and have fun while doing it . This is not Domme attire exclusively yet for some  fun ideas  check out Gothic Beauty Magazine . Women are luck they have  so many choices  for fetish fun  fashions .If your  drawing attention away from your feet by not wearing certain foot wear just redirect the eyes  somewhere else , by the clever use of corsets  or neck wear , etc .Spiked high heels are  hot but there are many other  choices  in foot ware  with out compromising a fetish  look feel  or fun . Good Luck and have fun .

Scarlett? Have you tried using a long, full skirt? Then whatever footwear you choose will be only revealed at YOU R discretion....

There's good ideas here! I have suffered some very unhappy feet due to stumbling--I broke a big toe so many times that I've developed an icky bunion.
In doing research, I found out that most foot problems result from wearing shoes that are too small. It's recommended to use those old-fashioned measuring tools to see what size you really are.  Likely, if you go up a half size, your feet will thank you. Those gel inserts do wonders too.
Fetish clothes are important for events. Especially if you are making a presentation or a demonstration. It's not so much "playing" a domme as meeting the general expectations of your audience.. or having fun yourself dressing up for friends at the dungeon or party.
You probably would not not stand up in jeans to give an important presentation to a client in a corporate setting--same idea.  So I think it's great that you want to keep that domme feeling in your wardrobe even tho you're going to cut out the spiky heels.

I forgot this part too , with EVERY new shoe i buy i not only try on what i think shall fit but 1/2 sizes too and  widths too , i am now  finding i  am more comfortable in ee and eee  wide shoes  and boots .After i find the  footwear that fits best  out come those  insoles that come with every shoe , and only last a  couple ours  of wear anyway and In  goes  a new set of Spenco insoles .Yes its an added 20.00  or more expence but  wow what a differance , and they last .Also if your wearing Doc's or  timberlands  or whatever type of boot get boot socks  too . Danner boots are amazing  made in the USA and  well worth the money .
Though i don't buy heels and  would  break my neck if i wore them  lol  i am sure  this info  shall cross into your buying world too .

Rogue86 (and anyone else who thinks a visual might help), I do have pictures posted with my profile.  In the past, I've always enjoyed showing some skin.  So far, I've been fortunate enough to pull it off, but I know that those days will come to an end as well....somewhat. LOL  I do love long skirts, but not sure if I want to cover up that much.  An excellent suggestion though and I will defintely consider it.  I'm very careful about getting my shoes to fit correctly as I wear orthotics when I'm not in fetish or dress shoes.
azropntied, you're correct about the fact that we have so much to choose from and I'm extremely grateful for that.  I choose to wear fetish clothing simply because I enjoy it so much.  MsMillgrove does have a point, however, that a domme dressed in a nice fetish outfit does make a better presentation if you're at a party, event, or whatever the occassion.  Personally, I don't need much of an excuse to wear it.

For my domme-wear, i have tall lace up corset boots, knee high. They have a 2 inch heel on them, since i cant manage a higher one. You might also want to consider riding boots.

Ok, if you go to my profile, it will say that I'm a pro domme.  It will also say that I am NOT currently accepting clients and I don't know if I ever will again due to health issues.  Someone has already sent me a private message on the other side concerning this (he wasn't brave enough to post it here), so please leave this issue alone.  I am NOT looking for (or accepting) clients and that was NOT the purpose of this post.  Thank you.
