Such as George Will?

Sanity -> RE: George Will (9/24/2008 6:59:07 AM)

The questions about Obama do spring to mind, and I'm not shy about inquiring. After all, if anyone mentions Jokin' Joe Biden's humongous gaffes they'll have three or four Liberals running up and breathlessly panting pure lies and gross exaggerations at you about Sarah Palin.

"She tried to ban HARRY POTTER!!"

So yeah, don't cry too much if Obama's name comes up, kitten

See, there's that desperation again - why do you have to bring Obama into everything like that? I'm getting worried about you [8D] .

Considering the large gains the Obama campaign have just made in the polls, I understand that you are feeling threatened. The economic catastrophe is bad news for McCain, isn't it?

If anybody knew who Obama was we might have some sort of a clue as to what his temperament is, but we don't.

Nobody knows the guy except who? His wife and his pastor of twenty years?

And he's thrown his pastor under the bus!

Thank you for posting the link, gina.  I have serious misgivings about Senator McCain's temperment in a time of crisis.

Whereas we knew daddy's boy was an incompetant, arrogant, warmonger who is a NWO, Skull & Bones, Yale grad. and all around capitalist fascist, neocon.

Just think...Obama might get us into 2 wars or ADD 2 and for almost 8 years. He might arrest people, take them off-shore and hold them years without trial. We might see oil QUADRUPLE in price, med. insurance triple in cost...a multi-trillion dollar bailout of his buddies on wall street. Lift no off-shore drilling moratorium. Come up with and sign-off on a new prescription drug benefit. Obama might lower median family income $2,500 a year...help cause higher inflation and generally muck things up all around.

Get a grip people...these last 8 years confirms the whole concept that being 35 yrs old and a citizen...qualifies you...anybody for the presidency and that if McCapital gets in and doesn't finish any term..Sara will lower the bar even further...if that's possible.

Sanity -> RE: George Will (9/24/2008 7:14:11 AM)

Threatened?  [:D]

Nah... the Democrats are already making excuses and planning out their race riots so no, I'm not worried about losing the election.

Oh, BTW... early voting in 11 states (started today) shows Obama ahead by a slight margin... even in states thought to be Republican strongholds.

It was either neck and neck or a slight Obama advantage in all the polls until the bailout thing broke.

If Obama can't win this one, what with Bush's huge unpopularity, a war in Iraq with no set victory criteria, and the financial mess, then the Democratic party should just accept its inevitable demise.  There'll never be a Dem President again at that rate.

Maybe people would be more comfortable about McCain if he lacked passion

After the last 8 years, I think folks will choose intellect over passion.

More cracks in the Republican ranks...

McCain was a creation of the democrats and their cohorts in the liberal media. When he gets elected they only have themselves to blame.

Wow.. thats some semantical contortions worthy of Cirque Du So Lame...  The democrats created John McCain... um, right. If he gets elected, it's the dems fault.... uh.. yeah... [8|]

No he didn't. Futhermore, Obama raised red flags about the lending practices and leverage ratios on Wall Street back in MAY.

The biggest travesty of modern politics is that it's turned into a fan-driven team sport.

Every day that either Bush or the Economy are in the news is a bad day for McCain.

One truly wonders what kinds of catastrophes need to happen to discredit bad Republican policies and executive malfeasance.

Sanity -> RE: George Will (9/24/2008 10:12:08 AM)

You're completely ignoring how it's been established already that Obama and the Democrats are at the very heart of this latest "crisis".

"McCain was a creation of the democrats and their cohorts in the liberal media. When he gets elected they only have themselves to blame".
that is the funniest damn thing I have read here!....
In actuality, McCain has now became a creation of the Republican party's "base" <read right wing>
Fat, you have no clue but, you do make laugh!

bipolarber -> RE: George Will (9/24/2008 11:11:00 AM)

Sanity, well, you know, the last 11 days have been pretty illuminating on that score. McCain first said it was "nothing to worry about, the fundamentals of our economy are strong" then, after finally grasping how serious the event was, went off like the typical "mean old man" he's often portrayed as, trying to find a scapegoat. And where the heck was Palin on this crisis? She still seems to be in a news blackout... (and I bet they are trying to find some way to say "she's sick" and can't attend the VP debate.)

Meanwhile, Obama's been cool, calm, and collected. Gatheirng info from his advisors, and telling the American people the truth. i.e. he looked Presidential. He and Biden differ on the AIG bailout, but as more info became available, Joe realized that Obama was right.

The President of the USA is responsible for conducting foreign policy, running the executive agencies (SEC), and enforcing the laws.

Yes, some blame can be passed around. I'm sure you and Thadius are working overtime in this area. Sadly, if Gore had let all this shit happen, you guys would just want a rope.

Ummm Rick Davis,McCain`s campaign manager, the top guy,was until only last month, taking payments from FannyMae for his efforts to loosen regulations for the financial sector.

Phil Gramm?

Another McCainer, lobbied(successfully) to have thrown out our depression era regulations(that helped build the strongest economy in history)that protected our money.

These crooks were leveraging money at 30 to one.  Fucking 30/1. That never would have been allowed under the old rules.

It`s the deregulation that has caused the problems.

And McCain is at the heart of the deregulation effort in Washington and has been for decades.

He has often personally taken credit for those efforts.

Now they`re try to pin Washington's`s problems on Obama, after saying he hasn`t been in Washington long enough?  Huh?

Can`t have it both ways and you can`t pull off the changing act, making McCain the reformer.

He`s the problem and he`s getting dragged under because of it.

Mr.Obama warned of this over a year ago, during which time McCain and his lobbyist campaign manager Rick Davis, were hard at work loosening rules and eliminating them for banks,Wall Street, mortgage houses, etc.

George Will has hit on something.

It`s true that the "base"(whatever that is) was energized by Palin and McCain`s pick of her.

But a good number of conservatives were turned off.

And nothing much has happened to change that.Palin looks worse by the day and McCain is floundering.

I don`t think the McCainers can count on party loyalty  trumping America`s best interests, when regular conservatives vote.

McCain does?

McCain: I Never Really Understood Economics. McCain said, “The issue of economics is something that I’ve really never understood as well as I should.” (Boston Globe, 12/18/07)

OOOOkaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

You're quoting another conservative opinion writer on these boards to claim that it's already been established.

I had no idea we were such experts here.

I hereby give my permission for everyone to quote my expert opinions.

Feel free to pass them on to the media and if anyone in either campaign wants my advice let them know I'm available.
