Get a grip people...these last 8 years confirms the whole concept that being 35 yrs old and a citizen...qualifies you...anybody for the presidency and that if McCapital gets in and doesn't finish any term..Sara will lower the bar even further...if that's possible.

Sanity, well, you know, the last 11 days have been pretty illuminating on that score. McCain first said it was "nothing to worry about, the fundamentals of our economy are strong" then, after finally grasping how serious the event was, went off like the typical "mean old man" he's often portrayed as, trying to find a scapegoat. And where the heck was Palin on this crisis? She still seems to be in a news blackout... (and I bet they are trying to find some way to say "she's sick" and can't attend the VP debate.) Meanwhile, Obama's been cool, calm, and collected. Gatheirng info from his advisors, and telling the American people the truth. i.e. he looked Presidential. He and Biden differ on the AIG bailout, but as more info became available, Joe realized that Obama was right.

The President of the USA is responsible for conducting foreign policy, running the executive agencies (SEC), and enforcing the laws. Yes, some blame can be passed around. Ummm Rick Davis,McCain`s campaign manager,the top guy,was until only last month,taking payments from FannyMae for his efforts to loosen regulations for the financial sector. Phil Gramm? These crooks were leveraging money at 30 to one. Fucking 30/1. That never would have been allowed under the old rules. It`s the deregulation that has caused the problems. And McCain is at the heart of the deregulation effort in Washington and has been for decades. He has often personally taken credit for those efforts. Now they`re try to pin Washington's`s problems on Obama,after saying he hasn`t been in Washington long enough? Huh? Can`t have it both ways and you can`t pull off the changing act, making McCain the reformer. He`s the problem and he`s getting dragged under because of it. Mr.Obama warned of this over a year ago,during which time McCain and his lobbyist campaign manager Rick Davis, were hard at work loosening rules and eliminating them for banks,Wall Street,mortgage houses,etc. George Will has hit on something. It`s true that the "base"(whatever that is) was energized by Palin and McCain`s pick of her. But a good number of conservatives were turned off. And nothing much has happened to change that.Palin looks worse by the day and McCain is floundering. I don`t think the McCainers can count on party loyalty trumping America`s best interests, when regular conservatives vote.
