cyberdude611 -> Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 3:53:33 PM)

During his interview with Katie Curic, Joe Biden said this:

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened....'"
"...and if you owned an experimental TV set in 1929, you would have seen him."

Now the problem with this is that FDR was not president until 1933. He didnt appear on television in 1929. And there were no televisions in 1929.

At least if Biden is elected, we are going to have a good 4 years full of stupid comments to make fun of.

Yup...we can all meet at the Pakistan-Iranian border and compare notes....[:)]

You have to love Joe!  He is always good for a laugh or two. He is worse than Al Gore and creating the internet!

Bidens "off the cuff" comments would make a wonderful collage of a real wordsmith who does it withhout the staff of writers that Obama has, and withhout the teleprompter that, apparently, withhout which he cannot give a speech.

Biden also handed Pennsylvania to McCain if the McCain camapaign is smart enough to use his in Eastern Pennsylvania.  Biden was talking about the dirty coal plants that China is putting on stream weekly and withhout equivocation said."we will never have coal plants built in America"....and there go hundreds of thousands of jobs in the coal industry in our country, a country with over twenty-five percent of proven coal reserves.  I guess Biden has not kept up with the technology for clean coal plants that our utilities are using...much like Obama being against Offshore Drilling since he is ignorant of how far technology has come to protect the environement offshore.  We have been through Katrina and Ike....and the media has not found anything to run 24/7 about spills and ducks dying in the toxic oil/water.

The odds seem to be growing that Biden is gonna get sick in October and Hillary will be put on the ticket. ..for the good of the country and the great unwashed, or course.

I hope Biden The Clown doesn't "get sick" come November, he's the best thing that's happened to the Republicans in years.

Owner59 -> RE: Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 7:12:22 PM)

Maybe they should cloister him,the way Palin has been.

She literally has shut the media out. They`re hiding her.Why is that?

Are they afraid of her gaffs?

Today at the UN,at the last min.,she decided that only stills could be taken,no questions,no writing.

If Biden also did this,he wouldn`t have to worry.

At least Biden is out there and open.

It would seem that Joe is a pretty good money manager though ... at least with his own dough. For all his Socialist leanings and professed desires he donated a whopping 1/8 of 1% of his income last year to charity! For you fraction impaired Liberals that would be 0.0012%
I don't know how much he made, but if it was $1M that means he was exceedingly generous with $1200.00 of it! Take that Mother Teresa!

God no!...I think if Hillary was put on the ticket in October it would really hurt McCain.  I'm very comfortable with an inexperienced POL at the top of the democrat ticket, and a guy who should get his own cable show in the  second slot.  Biden is ..well, like Don Imus, you really never know what is gonna come out of his mouth.

I hated Hillary before the democrat primaries.  However, I really grew in my respecst for her, her true grit, and also the way she answered questions without the ummmmm,,, errrrrr....cough cough... of Barack Obama. McCain was not my choice and, frankly, if Hillary was at the top of the ticket I would have had something to think about even though I disagree with 90% of her political agenda.  Once Palin was put on the ticket...it was McCain/Palin for me

No.. I want Hillary to go on vaca with Bill for the month of October....  :)

THELADY -> RE: Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 7:54:51 PM)

Biden says its patroitc to pay more taxes.....course, this country was founded on not paying unjust taxes. did anyone hear when asked the parapaligic senator to stand up,,,,,god love him!!! Obama says he will tax the rich, just to  make it fair, give it to the poor. course, he says he will hold off on raising taxes and more spending if the economy is bad......if that is not a good idea if the economy is bad, what makes him think its a good idea if the economy is good? both are aginst clean coal, nuke, oil.....lets see....what else is there....wind.....alright every one get ready to blow ur car across the interstate!!  .and when was the last time anyone heard Obama say he was proud of his country??  Ahhhhhhh but all our enemies really like him, that should count for something!!

Sanity -> RE: Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 8:13:38 PM)

Hockey mom, you say that like she's never been mayor, Governor, and she is now a Vice Presidential nominee.

It's funny the way Democrats keep trying to rewrite her history, it's like that's soooo important to them. Reality is just too scary for them I guess...

Her accomplishments rate awfully well considering the way Obama's followers brag that Obama's number one accomplishment ever is his getting his party's nomination for president.

Oh, don't forget, she had 80% approval as Governor...

Her accomplishments...are you kidding me.Sanity are you forgetting her speech she is a self styled "hockey-mom...did you ever hear the old joke it goes like this..."whats the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull....lipstick....hahahaha that is so funny..isn't it!

Sanity -> RE: Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 8:33:51 PM)

Sure, people say a lot of things in speeches, so what's your point.

Are you suggesting that a woman can't be Vice President, or that it's shameful to be a loving parent, or that her status as a hockey mom somehow takes away from the fact that she's a sitting governor and a former mayor, having far more leadership experience than Obama?

What's your point exactly.

Thadius -> RE: Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 8:46:48 PM)

The point was obvious.  The more distraction from Obama and Biden the better they feel.  I suggest that is the reason that Obama supporters fall back to attacking Republicans and trying to suggest that Bush and McCain are the same.  It keeps them from having to discuss actual policy or issues, or lack of specifics.  Honestly when is the last time you saw anything positive about Obama's policies posted around here?  I have been asking for over 2 months now...

There was the veiled attempt to suggest that 95% of working folks will be getting a tax cut.  Let's look at that one for a moment.

1. 33% of working folks pay no taxes at all.
2. There is not a single tax rate that will be changing except for those that are being raised.
3. 48% of working folks already get a full refund on their withholdings with tax credits and the like.

Just something to think about.

MzMia -> RE: Biden had another mis-speak (9/23/2008 9:40:04 PM)

lol
Biden might have been off with the years, but he was dead on with
the comparison of the economic situation NOW and the depression,
and THAT is the point.

Now Palin, that woman is brilliant!
She would be a fine President.
She is just what the USA needs right now.

I can see Russia from my house!
[sm=LMAO.gif]
Can President Bush spell "cat"?
And by the way, has anyone seen him lately?
Is he on vacation?

That's quite okay, Joe thinks you need an Indian accent to order anything at his local stores.

He is also proud about his state's history...

I know, that is the funniest part.  Joe is supposed to be a boost to the ticket, and he has outright contradicted the top of his ticket a handful of times this past week.

I can't wait to watch the debates... both of the VP nominees will be off their leashes.  This is going to be a gaffe fest to remember for a long time.
