I agree kittin... this would be akin to the democrats all making jokes about Palin's kid who has Downs Syndrome, and thinking it's all soooo fuckin' funny...

Looking back over the whole dust up over her pregnant 17 year old, I can't recall any "jokes" made at her expense. At worst, I can only think of comparisions being made between her, and the Spears girl who is in the same condition. I think the focus was on how the talking heads all condemned Spears, but looked upon Palin's kid with so much "awwww" affection, like she was "Lucy Ricardo" in a sitcom.

Yeah, that compares with: "Hey, I hear NASA found a new cratered moon... it's Chelsea Clinton's Face!" or "Hey, I hear Chelsea Clinton has a new fashion accessory that she takes on dates where she wants to get fucked... a paper bag!" HAW HAW HAW! (thigh slap) Underlings, fax those "talking points" to every right wing radio station in the nation... we must make sure that we, as republicans, grind this awkward little girl's self esteem into the dirt!"

Exactly, so it follows that McCain is a fucking mean wanker - how much of an arsehole do you have to be? How would you feel if your daughter was talked about like that? McCain was an asswipe, there's no two ways about it. Perhaps he offered an apology, which would be more than appropriate - I do not know, but at least admit that he was a cunt, and move on - let's hope he's grown up a little.

Actually I have the sense of humour of a dirty minded pervert - but I don't make public jokes about those more vulnerable than me. You don't know the difference, do you? Perhaps you share more with McCain than you thought :-) .

i agree, the joke was horrible. there were so many chelsea jokes going around when she was a kid, i felt so sorry for her. as a mother, if one of my kids were being the brunt of ingorance i'd be raising holy hell. chelsea has turned into a beautiful woman who really seems to have a good head on her shoulders. i'd say she is the best thing to have come from the clintons.

All I can say about Chelsea is that it shows the Clintons may have slept together "once". Other then that not much else to say about it. She did get the short end of the stick genetically from the two back in the day. She certainly has grown to look alot better now. Only now do I not hear a Donkey brawing in the distance when I look at her. (watch hot lil KittinSol jump on that comment..wink wink)

it should be "than"
alot is correctly spelled "a lot"
i think donkey's bray, but i could be wrong since i don't hang out with many.

i hope not all people are as judgemental as you are about what others are born with.

Sanity seems to be missing the point. It's not just that McCain made a bad, insesitive joke, about an awkward adolecent girl... No it's about the temperment of his entire party. The fact that they were SO ready to jump all over this young lady who couldn't fight back. (Honestly, what is an 18 year old girl going to do to fight against the slander of a couple hundred old white men in their late 60's, when they stand around like a group of teenage boys making nasty ass comments about something she couldn't change? Say, like McCain who was in his 60's at the time...)

Yeah, he apoligized. But the fact that the creeps did this in the first place tells you volumes about both their maturity level, their sense of appropriateness in public, and their general mean spiritedness. (That, and their mothers all dress them funny.) What is it, do you suppose, about being a party republican that makes a person so dispicable, on a fundamental level?

I have stated here before that regardless of which side of the political divide, the family members of the candidates should be left out of the mud-slinging. And I have even expressed sympathy for Bristol and her husband-to-be in this situation. They are at a difficult time in their life and living in the fishbowl only adds to the stress.

You can do a search for that if so inclined.

I remember that Hillary told the press that attacks on her young one were mean-spirited and completely out of bounds. As she pointed out adolescence is an awkward stage of life for most people and that being in the public spotlight only make the pressure worse.
