Well, looks like Hillary's people are serious!

Sorry, that link doesn't seem to be working but it's on the front page of Yahoo.

Democrats too far to the left???

Ya think???

quote:

WASHINGTON - A top Hillary Rodham Clinton fundraiser threw her support behind Republican John McCain on Wednesday, saying he will lead the country in a centrist fashion and accusing the Democrats of becoming too extreme.

"I believe that Barack Obama, with MoveOn.org and Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, has taken the Democratic Party — and they will continue to — too far to the left," Lynn Forester de Rothschild said. "I'm not comfortable there."

Yeah, I've been wondering why Abadabba hasn't been talking about his Bill S-2433 that would give an "additional" $845B of our Taxdollars to foreign countries to,........."alleviate world poverty."
Gee, I'll bet that would give all the people living in HUD and Public housing a real warm and fuzzy feeling!
Even Democrats are now calling Abadabba a "leftist."

You beat me to it Popeye .. I read this at work today and couldn't wait to get here and see the fallout.

What get's me is this quote: "I believe that Barack Obama, with MoveOn.org and Nancy Pelosi and Howard Dean, has taken the Democratic Party — and they will continue to — too far to the left,"

Okay - Didn't Hillary Clinton write a book called "It Takes A Village"? I seem to recall the ideas in that book were pretty far to the left.

From the article - Rothschild said she was excited by the prospect of a woman being in the White House, even though she and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin disagree on issues.

Politics and strange bedfellows, indeed.

Oh I forgot to add this:

“This is a hard decision for me personally because frankly I don't like him,” she said of Obama in an interview with CNN’s Joe Johns. “I feel like he is an elitist. I feel like he has not given me reason to trust him.”

Forester is the CEO of EL Rothschild, a holding company with businesses around the world. She is married to international banker Sir Evelyn de Rothschild. Forester is a member of the DNC’s Democrats Abroad chapter and splits her time living in London and New York.

Her husband is a knighted international banker .. she splits her time living in London and New York. But Obama is an elitist.

Soul, when you get to that level, they're all eliteists!
I'm "comfortable" but I don't go around raising $100k for political candidates.

That is a great clip. Forester got it exactly right, and I believe many other Dems agree with her. Wolf was pissing his pants in amazement as she spoke. Lol.

A little unintentional irony on Mme. Rothschild's part, eh wot?

Here we have a perfect example of where the sympathies of the very rich really lie. She might be all concerned about GCC, abortion, yada yada, but when push comes to shove, she ain't about to give up her place at the baccarat table in Monte Carlo.

What a surprise.

Trueer words were never said.  Most of my family were FDR democrats in those days...I would guess about two-thirds or more were JFK democrats.  And than the democrat party started to be impacted by the powerful left wing who controlled the nomination process,  and our party lost every general election until Bill Clinton.  And Bill Clinton won with only a minority vote, benefitting when Ross Perot came into the race as a spoiler and got about 17% of the vote.   A strong economy that benefitted greatly from the restructuring of American industry in the 1980's with massive downsizing,  re-elected Bill Clinton....and than another turn to the left by Gore who was almost carried in by the strength of the 1990's, with a very sharp turn with Kerry and now the ultimate leftist, a radical button man from  the Chicago machine.

My best guess is that possibly 10% of my family are now democratsand mostly the younger one's in school. We are now getting down to the nitty gritty of finding out who is the fellow Barack Obama...Is John McCain up to the job?  By the time we get to November and THE vote of our lifetimes the younger ones will probably mostly change their minds, or be "disowned"...:)

Hummm.... a multi-billionare heiress to the banking industry calls a guy who worked himself up from nothing an "elitiest."

Does anyone else see the irony here?

Oh well, sorry that she can't take time out from her life on the French Riviera to be more involved in US politics.

I guess Obama will have to ask his "elitiest" supporters (folks like you and me) for another $5 or $10 each... to make up for the $10 million shortfall... and the greta thing is... he can do it endlessly.

Corysub, my family were Irish-Catholic Democrats from Boston back in the day.
Democrats were for, "The Workingman."
These days they're still "For the Workingman" only the working people they're "for" are in our country illegally.
And, Democrats are "for" "free trade", only the free trade they're "for" has put millions of working people out of work in good paying jobs in manufacturing into "service sector" jobs that pay half the wage they used to make.
Where are all those "Millions of high paying manufacturing jobs" Clinton promised us if "NAFTA" were passed???
And now Obama says that he is in favor of "outsourcing" some jobs!
And he wants to "double foreign aid!"
And put our Troops in Darfur.
And give "amnesty" to illegal aliens.
That'll play real well in Michigan where they've lost tens of thousands of good-paying manufacturing jobs!
Clinton and "Nafta" have done immeasurable harm to working people in this country.
My father was a Boston Firefighter and my mother worked for the telephone company.
If they were alive today they wouldn't even recognise the Democratic Party much less vote for them!
And Obama wants to veer even further to the Left with more global socialism i.e. "foreign aid"?

Oh! That seals it then, Julie Nixon and Susan Eisenhower!!!
And millions of Hillary supporters will be backing McCain/Palin to position her for another run in 2012.
"Julie Nixon and Susan Eisenhower?"
Sheesh, maybe I should re-evaluate my vote!
If those two intellectual powerhouses.....

Don't be a bad looser, Pop - let's admit these traitors are all worth nothing for defecting to the other side. It still says 'Dems-nil, Reps-nil' on the scoreboard :-) .

KittinSol, "other side?"
I didn't know there was a "side."
As I've said on here many times before I'm an *Independant* voter and I don't much care for Republicans or Democrats.
Democrats less because they're veering way off to the left.
