ORIGINAL: thornhappy An awesome article, sappa. But do you think PETA will get involved?? Thanks thornhappy. I was actually searching for some news bulletin that would tell me what got launched from the cape this evening when I ran across this article. As an aside, I'm still clueless about what was launched. The exhaust plume drifted overhead and rained down very fine powder, which got into my eyes as I was looking up. It stings like a... well, it stings a lot. But I digress. I wouldn't put it past PETA to try and make an issue out of this. If they do, I don't know how much traction they'll get from the general public given that these tiny creatures seem to be bountiful across the planet. It's not like we're going to run out of them any time soon. However, since some in PETA may find this kind of study to be morally wrong, perhaps they could be persuaded to take the next trip up to space and hang out for a while to witness just how the little buggers get along? Perhaps if they knew the actual test conditions first-hand they might be in a better position to squawk about things? Of course, they would need to be naked too; much better to evaluate the conditions the buggers have to endure. ;-)
