to all the Mistresses out there....do You feel that nude or semi-nude pictures of subs and slaves are ok for a profile, or should a sub or slave not put anything up that is not a face pic? thank You!!!!

I want to see their faces. That way I can see their expressions, and use mom's "mean eyes" test.

I find naked pictures rather off-putting as an initial introduction---whatever happened to preserving some mystery?

I prefer to see a clear, recent, and dressed picture that includes a face. I understand people not putting them in profiles, but I think it's pretty much a requirement that I see who I am talking to within the first few emails.

Male naked bodies really don't do a lot for me. I enjoy particular parts of men, but a naked dude just standing there makes me want to tell him to put on some pants and go do the dishes. I think perhaps it strikes me as "do me."

I just went and trolled your profile - your second picture is much more attractive to me because I can see facial expression. If I got two emails from men with equal profiles and each submitted the pictures you have (one naked, one smiling face), I would probably delete the naked one (or send a very brief reply). The smiling face would be a lot more likely to get a sincere reply.

to me it is the first impresson of "All I want is sex.. I dont care what else you want.. just do me" that is just ickie.. plus seeing naked bodies is soooo non consentual for me.. I tend to click off the page quickly if I see one.

I agree with Khem. A *pleasant* expression goes a long way. I have written to men to say that I appreciated their smiling pictures--made friends that way, too! At the same time, there are some men who I avoid based on their angry or grim faces.

This goes for EVERYONE, not just subs or dommes or whatever.

I hate looking through profiles and those big strong men show off all their bondage gear and then girls in ropes and how hardcore they are. (Of course it's a lot more on fetlife since they don't care what pic you post.) Or the dommes in their leather looking so mean with a whip or their BS artistic shots sitting on a chair and the pic is black and white.

A simple smile goes a long way. I have nothing against nude shots or shots in BDSM gear; I just don't like when a person's profile is NOTHING but that.

I have to agree with what everyone else is saying. I have no need to see nude pictures. Except for the ones of faerytattoodgirl pussy. {wicked evil grin} But those are the exception to the rule. Okay I will stop teasing at least for the moment.

Oddly enough, none of my favorites even had profile pics when I started talking to them. Just goes to prove the point. Even those of us who enjoy looking at the pics, prefer talking to the person... not their body parts.

Porn is one thing, artistic nudes, quite another. Personally though, I like clothed pics, no matter how 'technical' that 'clothing' may be. I prefer things left to the imagination. Just think of how sucky christmas would be if people just tossed the presents under the tree without wrapping them first. BORING! I LOVE the pretty packaging, trying to guess what's inside, before opening it and going 'YAY! I got new toys!'.

That being said though, I don't mind nice, artistic nudes (on a site like this), hell even some of the female pics out there are beautiful to look at because of the photography and style. Nor do I mind out and out porn, IF I'm going to a site specifically to view such a thing. I would mostly advise though, as it's my opinion, and seems to be a general concensus so far, that if you decide you want something nude, go artistic, something really nice, but NOT as your first picture. Have a few pics in there of just you being you, and move onto the more risque stuff farther down the list.

It depends on what you want. The way you look will be the first thing you're judged on. If someone reads a post of yours and finds you interesting, your looks will be the second. ("Looks" here meaning aesthetic appearance and inferable knowledge. A picture of you with a bottle of Jack being gulped sends off a different vibe than the same everything, but this time its a toast on champagne.)

If you want to be looked at as meat, put your meat in pictures. There's nothing wrong with wanting no-strings-attached sex. I feel very confident in saying most forum readers and relationship seekers want more, but there are some. Better luck on craigslist, probably.

When I see a profile picture with a reflection of a yellowed bathroom mirror showing me fuzzy, camera-phone 6-pack abs, a towel below the waist line, shaved mons, cut off at the neck, I assume this person values looks heavily. (Not good or bad, just saying). Also, has something to hide (not good or bad. I imagine politicians stand to be seen differently if on a kink site). And don't know much about power balance. Too much time having somewhat kinky sex. (Also, not good or bad.)

Keep your gear on and show a face if you feel safe to do so, or disguise it if not. I beheaded Myself here because of My work, but will exchange the same pic with the head intact after chatting a while. I'm really not into naked guys leaping unsolicited into My mail box. And it also implies to Me they are either hung up about looks ... or more of a do-me boy than the sub I am looking for.

One thing that most people don't mention when talking about profile pics - Be AWARE of what is around you in the photo! Nothing scream "Married Cheater" like a photo with frilly curtains behind a man. I also don't want to see clutter around a sub who wants to be my house boy. Yeah... My photo shows my ass and a flogger... but I'm also standing in a Library, not a dungeon or a bedroom. (Sadly, that's not MY library or my sarcophagus, but I do have one just like it.) I like to think that some people pick up on the idea that I have many, varied interests, not just my kinks. Backgrounds send messages. Sometimes those signals are subliminal. Sometimes they are more obvious to strangers than to the person in the pic.

While I agree with the general point about paying mind to what else is in the photo, there are exceptions to the point above. While none of my photos show curtains and they are not overly frilly, my current house has whatever window treatments were put up by the previous owners, who were a married couple. And one of my past photos was taken at the house of friends who are a married couple.

So I am putting out this data point in the mix of things.
