Anyone else here apathetic about politics?

I mean c'mon?  The real difference between the two major parties is like wondering if you should have 'brown lumps with grey sauce' or 'grey lumps with brown sauce' for dinner.

Democlin or republicrat - just not much real difference.  Either party wants only your money and/or control.  They only differ in how they attempt to manipulate the people in getting it.

That's not true at all. Al Gore almost certainly would not have tricked Americans into launching a destructive war that has killed tens of thousands of people, destroyed trillions of dollars of value, and cost America a tremendous amount of prestige. Seems like a pretty big difference to me.

tychtyp ....

seriously ... if I wanted to play devil's advocate, I could go on and on about the evils of the other party (Mr. Gore included) regardless of which party you'd like to tout.

However, my apathy keeps me from doing so.

Define "destructive" and "destroyed".  As we most certainly would have been "tricked" into launching a war, the results of which are up for debate, I simply point to his arguably extreme environmental positions.  The dollars lost during the attacks and the Enron scandal still would have occured, same with the Dot com bust, oh and I would dare say the real estate issues would still have occured.

This is also a discussion for a different thread.

To the original topic, I suppose many have or are becoming apathetic especially after the gloss and glamour wears off of the messages of change being championed by the 2 major tickets.

Hey pahunkboy, what's shakin?

Yeah, I will likely vote for SOME third party candidate or another, and I do like a lot fo Ron Paul's positions ... though I will not stump for any particular candidate here.

I guess I mostly get tired of the one-sided diatribe coming from the pundits of one party or the other.  Its like their brains turn off completely.

I decided awhile ago; I can't believe so many are still on the fence.

And non-US posters must be fed up to the teeth with this obsessing.

Well, there are some differences, so nope, not apathetic.  I have had to tune out the other side and focus on what I can do for the campaign that's a bit more in line with what I believe.

kdsub -> RE: Apathetic about politics (9/12/2008 5:28:10 PM)

I get tired of seeing the ridiculous political pitches in the media...OVER AND OVER AND OVER...and having political phone calls all day and night.

BUT

I love arguing here on CM..its fun

Don't be so jaded about the process...what is the realistic alternative?

Et tu Ron?

Damn jihadists...[sm=anger.gif]

NumberSix -> RE: Apathetic about politics (9/12/2008 5:39:34 PM)

Were we to frank Thad on a dollar, I think it would have the collectability of archduke Ferdinand of Sarajevo's demise.  (Something we ALL take to heart).

Crown Prinze Wilhelm

Thadius -> RE: Apathetic about politics (9/12/2008 5:44:42 PM)

Alas I am not that egocentric.  I think the dollars should be desired, and why not have them represent what they are spent on?  Tits and ass, I picture a whole line of coins and paper currency with various tit, cunt and ass shots.  Then tell me how the value will go down, I would even back those dollars with women.  That way they have a vested interest in keeping themselves up.

The lecherous Duke

NumberSix -> RE: Apathetic about politics (9/12/2008 5:49:07 PM)

Perchance, I am listening to Beethovens 9th Symphony by Sir Georg Solti right now, so in the spirit of the times :

If they have no bread, let them eat cock.

Selah.

Morris Antoinette

fearghus -> RE: Apathetic about politics (9/12/2008 5:50:03 PM)

Sorry Thad, I gotta go with Ron ...

Its not everyone that can toss in an Archduke Ferdinand reference on a BDSM board and have it be humorous and fairly on-topic.

Vendaval -> RE: Apathetic about politics (9/12/2008 6:27:26 PM)

While I am all in favor of pervy currency guys there seems to be an old European tradition of Emporers wearing no clothes.  Sure you are ready for that kind of pomp and circumstance, Thadius?

And Number 6/ Ron/Hup really must be the court jester, by popular demand!
