Shylahgirl -> Flogging side effects (9/9/2008 1:52:05 AM)

The other night Master went to town on my back with a flogger... it was far from my first flogging... we had fun and played for about an hour.

This morning I noticed that the target zone on my upper back is dry and itchy... the flogger chapped my skin and the leather took some moisture. Unfortunately its right in that part of the back that I cant reach.

Master and I don't see each other much during the week, due to work so I don't have anyone to rub lotion on the dry spot.

Any suggestions on what to do?... it's driving me nuts

Shylah

Use a back brush to apply lotion after a warm shower or have a bath with a lashing of glycerine and oil in the water.

As the sadistic one in my relationship, I say SUFFER!, LOL  Just an extension of the scene in My opinion.

If it is a must then put some lotion on a towel and use the towel over your back.

Or try a bath with oils in it. Just don't rub fully dry or you'll rub all the oil off.

Oats(natural), wrap them up in a cloth, like muslin and hang over the tap so it runs through whilst preparing a bath.  Soak your back in the milk it produces.  Best natural remedy for chapped and dry skin.
Use a back scrubber or long wooden spoon with a towel wrapped around it to cream the area.

Edit to add - Never use just any oils on chapped skin and particularly do not bath in it.  You risk blocking and making the area even more sore/infection depending on the oils and ingredients - DON'T use mineral or virgin Olive.

It puts the Lotion on its skin or it gets the hose again!
Do you live by yourself in the middle of nowhere? You can ask any friend to scratch your back. :)

stretch exercises to improve your flexability is a good suggestion; i can reach all areas of my back with no problem.

other than that, try an oatmeal bath.

I would say, if your back is not to tender to (one) take a warm then colder shower That would be like treating it like a burn.

(two) take a soft cloth, roll it up and tape, tack, or nail it to the edge of a door, put some moisturizing/antiseptic cream on it turn around and softly rub your back on it. If there is any broken skin be very careful to keep it clean to avoid an infection. You should really make a friend
who can help you take care of you after "he" has left.
Let me know if this works for you

Grab a rubber spatula (the kind you use to scrape out the rest of the cake batter from a bowl) from the kitchen and use that to lotion.

Dark is right...you need to be careful about the oils you use so that your pores do not get blocked.  I have my patients use a combination of Aloe and Vitamin E.  It works quite well and yes, I have used it on a few patients who knew I was kink-aware and referred to me by my Dominant chiropractic friend in Denver.

I know Regal sells a lotion applicator. It looks like a back brush but it opens  so you can put lotion inside and there are 12mm acrylic beads that roll and apply the lotion to your skin. It's about 3 feet long and works awesome.

I bought it when I was single because I unfortuately suffer through the winters up here with really dry skin.

You can probably find something similar if you can't buy Regal products where you are.

my first thought was to go in the shower, put lotion on the wall, and back into the wall and rub against it like a dog using a tree to scratch himself.

You can get a shower/moisturizing brush at Walmart or Target for a few buck. I use a Loofah strap to exfoliate in the shower before moisturizing.

Also after flogging, it is good for Master to put lotion on you.  my Master does every single time as part of aftercare.  i personally have NEVER had any trouble after flogging with itchy or irritated skin.  He uses Vasoline Intensive Care with Aloe and it works wonderfully.  Maybe you could ask your Master to do it in a nice, respectful way next time?  Hope i helped.  [:)]
