Owner59 -> Obama Raises Record $10 Million Since Palin Speech (9/4/2008 9:01:17 PM)

To McPalins`s one.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09/04/obama_raised_8_million_since_p.html

The Obama campaign said tonight it broke its single-day fundraising record, raising more than $10 million in the 24 hours since Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin gave her speech.
"I hope she gives a speech every single day," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

"Sarah Palin's attacks have rallied our supporters in ways we never expected," he said. "And we fully expect John McCain's attacks tonight to help us make our grassroots organization even stronger."

Yes, she is energizing the base! LOL  I love it!

Vendaval -> RE: Obama Raises Record $10 Million Since Palin Speech (9/4/2008 10:38:48 PM)

People are watching and paying attention and getting involved in the political process, all good signs.

I'm just glad that women aren't flocking to McCain-Palin without thinking about it first. One thing is for sure, Obama has a way with raising money on a scale that I've never even heard of. Couldn't all this money be used for other things like, fixing Social Security? People complain about being taxed an extra half percent on whatever, but don't mind donating 5, 10, 15, 200, 2000 bucks at a time?

Not that I'm complaining, I hope Obama can keep this steam for 2 more months!

Oh, sorry, this must be a socialist thread.

Owner, it says on the front page of Yahoo that McCain is leaving the convention with, "$200 million."

SilverMark -> RE: Obama Raises Record $10 Million Since Palin Speech (9/5/2008 2:20:19 AM)

• Corporate America pours over $100 million into DNC, RNC found this on Yahoo, nthing on McCain by himself raising that much????

MistressNew -> RE: Obama Raises Record $10 Million Since Palin Speech (9/5/2008 4:28:02 AM)

As we learn more about Palin, I think that more and more money will be put in Obama's pockets.  That might be part of the reason that the republicans have been hiding her from the press and any free questioning.

As a matter of fact, I think I'll donate 100 dollars right now, before work.

I'm with you.  The polls over the last two days say it all.

Can anyone actually prove this claim? Or is it possible that Hussein is desperate enough, that he hopes this announcement will kill the McCain/Palin momentum.

Campaign fundraising disclosure is required by law. You'll be able to request the data from the FEC sometime in October if you want.

Senator Obama's campaign has made many public reports of their fund raising and all of the previous ones have been correct. Sidney's campaign is the one with FEC fund raising issues.

Sarah Palin is not hiding from the press. She was on a plane an hour after the convention and in Wisconsin this morning. On her way to Michigan this afternoon.

Oh, sorry, this must be a socialist thread.

I have posted accordingly when I agreed with you popeye but don't understand the continued use here and by many about the 'socialism' that has never existed in this country at least as it is strictly defined...'the govt. ownership of the means of production.'

For the govt. to send out checks to people and businesses is certainly not socialism unless of course one stretches the meaning to create the idea that the govt. becomes a partner in that business and one we would otherwise see fail without it. If we accept those checks from govt. as a form of socialism, then a majority of the population would have to proudly wear that mantel and not including most of Soc. Sec.

If one applies this reasoning, then it becomes most interesting when the most expensive form of this kind of socialism per capita...would be farmers.

The big 3 auto cos. for example are already in line next fiscal year...to get a US Fed. govt. loan guarantee of some $25 billion and have asked and already received positive feedback...they will get another $25 billion to tack onto that. Shall we call that socialism ? This is $50 billion in loans guaranteed by the taxpayer and clearly a decision...the so-called free marketplace didn't make.

The great and glorious 'free market' (sic) that wants the profits but doesn't want the risk, rides again...on the taxpayer's white...er green horse. No, this is NOT a socialist thread.

Yeah, after the fact, and afer he tried to kill the momentum. I'll believe it when I see it.

Speaking of desperation, your repeated use of Hussein drips with it.

Not one of you who take umbridge with my use of Hussein's middle name, have come up with a valid reason on why I shouldn't use his lawful middle name.

And for the last time, McCain is not my guy, he's too liberal for me, and since I don't have a horse in the race, it could hardly be desperation for me, now could it?

dcnovice -> RE: Obama Raises Record $10 Million Since Palin Speech (9/5/2008 12:20:50 PM)

I don't take umbrage with it; I just think it's silly. It sounds like a schoolyard taunt mixed with an effort to whisper "Hey, maybe he really is Muslim."

And IMO it's sounds, gasp! it is his middle name. Do you always take time out of your day to post about things you think are silly?

kittinSol -> RE: Obama Raises Record $10 Million Since Palin Speech (9/5/2008 12:29:49 PM)

Why do you call him  by  his middle name, if not to remind yourself of his 'foreign' ascendancy?

I have to admit, it does seem very childish.
