Frankly, i dunno what a submissive sounds like...i have a upstate NY accent...i've been told my voice is sexy...LOL.

i am searching -- active verb -- for my One. How the hell am i supposed to find Him unless i speak truthfully and openly and ask alot of questions?

Be yourself, not some Stepford Wife. No woman can play that role all her life.

"You're so nice, it's amazing you're a domme!"

I hear it all the time, thankfully in a good way. In my heart of hearts, I am a shrieking harpy, honest.

"you are too softspoken to be a Dom"
Geez, I didn't know I had to attend Dom Dialect and Voice school to tell someone to "kIss my ass, coz I can't".

We are what we are...Top/bottom M/s ..... I say to hell with what other people think and to our own selves be true.

Me, I'm not so 'umble all the time...thank god, or it'd get annoying.

Or boring, which is even worse. :)

thank you all for submitting responses (i was offline for the weekend doing a busman's holiday thing). sometimes i just wonder at things i'm told (not online--those i just take in stride). i'm going to hold onto the part that i know that i am what i am, and if someone thinks that i should be different in some way, that's not anything having to do with me, necessarily. i do think that i've got things pretty much in order and good perceptions. again, thank you. it's nice at times to have reassurance.

Submissives, like Dominants, come in all flavors and colors and varieties.

We come in flavors? Lemme think. If you are referring to our "juicies", mine is honey with a touch of unsweetened lemonade, as best as i can describe it.

While I agree in general with your overall point, I can certainly say that I have a pet peeve about tone in a submissive. Tone and inflection are in fact very important if a submissive wants to continue talking to ME. If they come across as constantly insolent or crass, I won't be speaking with them much longer.

well here are some examples from My email inbox (and My profile is pretty clear what I'm looking for, well actually at the moment I'm not..)

From a female sub--" well you look like your in the middle of a great orgasm"--this completely out of the blue---

From another sub--"look your mother died 2 weeks ago, shit happens get over it and lets get on with it"

Here's another gem: I want to be raped by you, call me at xxx-xxx-xxxx

OH here's the best one from a DOM: I bet I can make you beg--

Soooo not very sub like behavior--if a sub approaches Me with respectable humor, a decent petition--( basic human communication), I will always look at the profile, reveiw what's there and explore with them a bit--the problem is we have all adopted these personnas, I always ask if I was in a mall, would you talk to Me that way as just another human being?

Personally I want a sub with thoughts, ideas, spark, passion, a tad of spunk---a great sense of humor, but a wise cracking smart ass--not for Me---as I have said before, at the end of the day we are after all humans,--and I think we forget that basic---

Now My parting thought, from a dear sub friend of Mine---just because you are Dominant- and I am submissive does not mean the dynamic is there--the band starts playing but the dance does not begin until the bodies connect--

O Ma'am...my deepest sympathy for Your loss. Some of the email You got make me chuckle, but the one about Your mother's passing made me tear up. What a terrible loss. I will keep You in my prayers; and please feel free to contact me on the other side.
