Ok, this really does happen. I've had problems like that with my CM mail for a long time. It seems to be working for me lately, but in the past there were times when I emailed someone, it showed read, and the person never responded. After this happened a few times, I ultimately found out that they had never received the mails. ETA: When I've had this issue, the one thing that has fixed it was to deactivate my account. Then re-open it.

I've never had that happen, but I think it tells you a lot about someone. Just sayin'.

You hear about this happening alot. We even had someone several weeks back test it out, mailing people responding to their thread, and the mail would show as read but the person never received it. Cali

Yeah, it happens but not as often as you'd think. Imagine how many messages are flying across cyber space. I'm sure certain sites/servers will accidentally log something as "seen" or "read"? For instance, at times, I find that my messages are read within the same "minute" that I had sent it, but I know for a fact that said person wasn't even on CM (because we were chatting on AIM/YIM). shrug And it does show character for someone to have admit that they have been wrong.
