Lotus, I can comiserate. Different particular, same issue. Staying non-partisan on the issue, it probably is a gubmint conspiracy. They don't want us to have anything good. They discontinued my brand of cigarettes ! There is surely some sinister force behind this. Sometimes they don't even discontinue something, it just becomes "new and improved". I may have mentioned "chicken things" in the past. When I had my first chicken thing it was great. They came from a company called Market Day. They were great, a chicken breast wrapped around broccoli and cheese. Back then it was broccoli and cheese, but they became new and inproved. Before, it was pure. Now it is supposedly healthier but I don't see how. They used to have nice chunks of broccoli and the cheese was cheese. Now it is a cheese sauce and they use tiny broccoli flourettes, so small you can't even taste them. The cheese "sauce" is bland and probably has more flour in it than cheese. You cut into the thing and all the "sauce mixture" runs out all over the plate, and truthfully, it is not worth scooping up. This is progress folks. Remember when you could go to BK and order a "Whaler" and get a fish sandwich that came on something the size of a kaiser roll and the fish was hanging out on all sides ? Order one now. My ex-favorite pizza place, Nunzio's. They let me down too many times. Used to be the best damn pizza in Cleveland, and Cleveland is near to being the pizza capital of the world. And now there are no PDQs, Roy Rogers, Red Barns, nothing of the sort. Even this chicken joint on the east side is gone. YES we drove all the way to the east side to get chicken. I almost forgot about DiCarlo's pizza. They used to be big, the family would send an envoy to get their special version of pizza. Hot sauce, hot pepperoni, thin crust and powdered romano cheese. Nothing else. They are gone. They tried to resurrect themselves on the west side but they didn't last long. What's more, they started making regular pizza !. Asked the guy one day "Can you make it the old way ?", he said yes but it would be about $40 a half sheet. Royal Castle is gone as well, no more birchbeer. Now when a fastfood joint comes out with their own proprietary soft drink, you would think they are here to stay, but oh well. It's a goddamn conspiracy I tell ya. Forget about 911 being an inside job, CIA and Mossad actions, overthows and assasinations, none of that means shit, this is a REAL conspiracy. It is bipartisan and there are so many people involved that you would do better to identify those few who are NOT involved. Maybe "they" think we are too fat. T
