First things first, I'm 95% positive hypnosis is bunk. But I wont say its totally busted until I see that for myself.

But if it were real, and you thought you could do it, and tried to pull it on me in a scene? Yeah....bullshit. Sorry unless you have had extensive YEARS of training in therapy, you can stay the fuck out of my head.

See, Russian roulette sounds fun also, but you don't see me going out to buy a gun.

It's not so much an issue of witnessing as much as an issue of the quirk of human neurobiology. The mind does have some odd, quirky tricks it's able to do with sufficient placebo effects and/or biochemical rushes.

People who seek out hypnotism are welcoming the functional capacity for it to work. This is not to say that any run of the mill Joe can pull it off effectively (just like not anyone can wraps people's mind around his non-metaphyscially honest finger as Derren Brown)...but skill at being able to manipulate the psychological nuances of humans who are open to having those innards puppeteered isn't necessarily more than just what it is.
