I mean...

Isn't that the billion dollar question facing the "Unified Team"?

Does anyone really doubt the Clintons see McCain as a one term seat warmer?

Hillary has to say all the right things, her husband too but what will be their deeds?

Is there anyone naive enough to think she really wants Obama to be President and will wait her time until 2016????

Publicly she will support Obama, but you better believe she doesn't want him to win. My feeling is that she and Obama will be fighting for the Democratic nomination exactly as they did this year. The big difference will be that she can then point to him and ask if the Dems should again support a loser.

And she would be riight.

The key thing is her President clock is ticking away, if not now, then it has to be 2012 or never.

This sort of political intrigue is fundamental.

They will make kissy face, keep a distance, idealogically, sort of agreeing and disagreeing---
and hope he gets caught blowing somebody in the MSP airport.

If you look at 2 termers, there is some dip after the first go around honeymoon, and the Clintons are not disinclined to jump into that breech with both feet (as you have astutely pointed out, in 2012 (for her) it must be, let slip the dogs of war).

Nevertheless; they have and will be shunted aside for some time,  and cannot; under any circumstances run afoul of the party machinery at present......so they take a little soak, and then---
when the water cools, as it certainly will, armchair quarterback alot like Trickie Dickie did, so even if they fall flat in 2012, the legacy is one of fluffy dreams.

They ain't stupid, they are ruthless like most politicos are.

I am sure Nixon did zilch behind the scenes for Goldwater.

If Obama loses, he's done, no more Presidential runs for him. Just like Dukakis, Gore, Kerry...et al.

Hillary is right there for the nomination, and this time, she'll be watching for the up and coming "star" of the DNC during midterms. She won't be blinded by arrogance twice.

Does it really matter who gets the seat in 2012?  No matter which party gets it they are stuck in a mire which can't be won, and will only harm people's opinion of them.  2012, is the sacraficial lamb year.

not only did he do zilch, my understanding reading the book Arrogance of Power, is that he went out of his way to hep that motherfucker in the negative.

One little picture of Carter at the convention, who, for all the wrong reasons, wasnt a political betsy, but by god if they played the national anthem of Chad  on the whitehouse lawn, could sing the words and know what they meant, and is gonna turn out right about alotta things, did not even acknowledge such shit as clintons or obamas there.

Perhaps I need another lesson in U.S. history, but I don't think anyone from the same party has ever challenged a sitting president. Meaning, if Obama wins this, he's in there for 8 years. Just as if Hillary won this election, she'd be a two-term president as well, if she chose to. The only way I see Hillary running in 2012 is if Obama loses this election or if Obama chooses not to be a 2-term president.

The main reason why Hillary lost this election was because she had poor campaign managers, whereas Obama had David Plouffe.

The Chicago Tribune writes, "Plouffe was the mastermind behind a winning strategy that looked well past Super Tuesday's contests on Feb. 5 and placed value on large and small states."

Whereas Hillary's campaign manager was quoted saying essentially that if Hillary won California on Super Tuesday, she'd have enough delegates. Although, any high school senior should remember from their U.S. Government class that only the republicans employ the "winner-take-all" strategy in primaries, (reason why McCain secured his nomination so early on), and that the DNC utilizes proportional representation. Hillary's campaign manager was her own undoing, in my opinion for the 2008 bid for President. I mean, even Michael Whouley worked on Hillary's campaign, but he had the foresight to see where things were going and jumped ship. Haha.

T. Roosevelt tried it by creating his own Bull Moose party.

He lost.

It rarely happens happens and when it does, as in the case of Ted Kennedy running in 80 and Pat Buchanan running 92, it tends to spell disaster for the sitting President.

And yes... "if Obama loses" is what Hillary's going for.

If I recall correctly, there were senior DNC people in the room who made certain that the campaign managers were reminded of that, and yet nothing was done to change...

Kennedy vs Carter, 1980.

Reagan won.

2016...????

Get a clue...she'll be 143.

She isn't towing the line because of 2016....

She's towing the line because she's confident he's going to fuck up and she's coming in at 2012.

At minimum...she's towing the line to carry the party so she can walk in as a sure thing if McCain gets the gig.

She's no dummy.

This is not about 2016....this is about 2012....no matter what happens.

Maybe I blew a head pipe at westworld like Marcus Welby's assistant.

But they are coughing up the 71 year old stay the fucking course kinda guy, and some soccer mom from ----did I read that right?  AFuckinglaska? landgrab  of the take?

What a brave new world, they are poised to subsume all fractious and adversarial positions they have created for the last 20 years in 2012; fuck me!!!

Goddamit, I blame Carter, and Clinton.........I shoulda seen it coming. Next, we are going to load the Justice bench with folks that say sucking other Republicans off in Minneapolis Airports is a right guareteed by the constitution, as expressed in the munificent and benifecent administration of the God; Arbusto, and his blessing and tireless work in the real of HIV.

I now see the plan!!! Why didn't they tell me?
