Yeah ,they both were on the same charity board.

Oh wow. Obviously, Obama is a terrorist.

Is that the message?

~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone who claims they were friends, is a straight up lier and eats shit.
Just one more ad from the lunatic fringe,bearing fear and appealing to the darkest sides of folks.
Your basic republican offering.
Are you  guys nearing the bottom of the barrel,yet?Probably not.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This,coming from people who want the Iraq occupation to last forever.......,is all the more disgusting.

Mayor Daley is a liar?

The Washington Post, fact checker

By Michael Dobbs

"The only hard facts that have come out so far are the $200 contribution by Ayers to the Obama re-election fund, and their joint membership of the eight-person Woods Fund Board. Ayers did not respond to e-mails and telephone calls requesting clarification of the relationship. Obama spokesman Bill Burton noted in a statement that Ayers was a professor of education at the University of Illinois and a former aide to Mayor Richard M. Daley, and continued:

"Senator Obama strongly condemns the violent actions of the Weathermen group, as he does all acts of violence. But he was an eight-year-old child when Ayers and the Weathermen were active, and any attempt to connect Obama with events of almost forty years ago is ridiculous."

V,

I am not judging Obama based on what happened when he was 8.  That is a dodge of the issue at hand, as Ayers has never apologized, and has stated in recent days that he wished that they had done more.

His own campaign has stated they were friends, the Mayor of Chicago has stated that the 2 were friends, and just this week were boxes upon boxes of files released about their handling of one of the other boards the 2 of them belonged to.  Which has been accused of being a failure and not all that frugal with the money...

I think that is about as polite as I can state it.

I wish you well,
Thadius

I am not understanding which two persons were involved in the boards and the files and the mishandling of money.  Do you mean the mayor and Ayers or Ayers and Senator Obama?  (Not all of us are up to date on Chicago political shenanigians)

Ayers and Obama.

Boxes full of files were recently released that are being gone through now, should be interesting.

I read your posts regarding your upcoming elections, and actually just had a conversation today, how us Canadians differ.  We get less than 2 months notice that the shyt may hit the fan up here.  Unfortunately, or fortunately, we tend to realize the sad reality is whatever we do is not really going to make a difference.  Politicians are politicans.  Say what it takes...then backtrack.  I'm surprised by the difference between the intensity of our two elections.....up here...the thin air...frigid temperatures, melting igloos....good weed....man we just don't seem to care quite as much...or do we know it and realize it just doesn't matter?

Edited.....bad bad spelling...ooops

Obama and Ayers.

Annenberg funded a project in Chicago for school reform, Ayers and Obama were the 2 in charge of the program.  Incidently, Annenberg also is the owner and financer of the factcheck website.  Anyways, they have been fighting to keep those records sealed.

One commentator talks about the recent article in the Chicago Tribune..

quote:

Completely unmentioned is whether documents held at a state-run university's library, about a project to reform and improve public school systems, relating to a public figure who wants to be the next president, can be withheld from the public's eyes.

SilverWulf,

Do you have some links and references handy, please?

Thadius -> RE: More Change to Believe In (8/28/2008 9:30:08 PM)

Here is one about the papers being released... remember there is a bit of spin to it (there is an art to reading a Chicago newspaper).

Is it as bad as The New York Post or The Weekly World News ?

Thadius -> RE: More Change to Believe In (8/28/2008 10:08:27 PM)

It depends on how much you have pissed them off. [;)]
