Jesus was a social activist liberal, who gave away free health care.

The bible is one of the most liberal collections of writings in history and liberation theology is it`s main message.

What did Jesus tell us we must do?

We must, cloth the naked, feed the hungry, comfort the sick and counsel the convict,etc.,etc.

That`s about as opposite as you can get from the republican message.

It`s the right that has lost Jesus` message.

The belief that they`re more god fearing, more patriotic, etc,is a small part of the conservative neurosis.

Frankly, I would think a religious left would be closer to the teachings of Jesus

In theory, maybe.

In reality a "religious left" is a contradiction in terms.

Yeah, what do those silly Quakers know about either...[8|]

Sort of a strange mix, eh?  The release of it is really interesting and is playing into ads like this.

As far as the "Boss" I am more hoping that they do "Born to run" as it seems more fitting, ah but what do I know.  There is plenty of streaming coverage out there, some of the bigger places are doing 24/7 streaming cameras, so might be worth looking into.

As Don King would say right now.... Only in America.

So McCain thinks an amateurish attack against a candidate because he is popular is a good idea? BTW how did he legally pay for this thing, it says he did at the end, when he is legally forbidden from spending one penny on campaigning until he officially becomes his party's nominee? Where is the outrage over his blatant violation of campaign laws? What happened to the right wingers who frothed at the mouth over some questionable campaign donations in the past?

Obviously, you are confused about something, there is money that is raised for the primaries and money raised for after becoming the nominee.  Where has Obama been getting his money to legally advertise all of this time, as well?  Does this mean we the people get to throw out the 2 current presumptive nominees, and pick the ones we like?  That is something I could get behind.

However it is good to know that the light has shown on you, and you had that epiphany to vote for Obamessiah.

I'm not confused about anything. legally the primary campaign ends after the candidate is nominated at his party's convention. Until that time the primary fund raising and spending rules apply. McCain took federal matching funds for his primary campaign, Obama did not take matching funds and is therefore able to spend all the money he can legally raise. That obligates McCain to spend no more than $54 million during the primary campaign. He exceeded that limit sometime in late March or early April. Every penny he has spent since then has been in violation of federal election law.

Did he receive public financing for the primary?  If I remember correctly he withdrew from it, and committed to public financing for the general election and even entered into an agreement with... Uhm that other guy, that has since renegged on it...

Just sayin.

Yes, he received public funding. He even secured a loan last December with those funds as collateral. He claimed to withdraw from the system but the law does not make anyallowance for such and even if he could he would have been commiting fraud against the bank that loaned him money with those funds as collateral.

It's been very well established that the only reason he's getting away with this is because GWB refuses to nominate anyone to fill the enpty positions on the FEC. At present the FEC is below quorum and can take no action. I wonder why?

Edited to add... he did attempt to withdraw back in Feb... What was the reason for those vacancies not being filled?

Pity I don't have a medium to ask Richard Nixon or Herbert Hoover about it....

Are you saying that there aren't any living Quakers to ask?   [:D]

Fact is, there is a significant and very real religious left,  homilies to the contrary.  It may not have anything to do with the aspirations and showmanship of the DNC, but it is real nonetheless.

I missed the FEC having voted. GWB tried appointing a man unacceptable to the Senate and wouldn't submit a new nominee as well as removing from nomination the GOP commission chair who sent a letter to the McCain campaign back in Febuary telling them they couldn't simply withdraw at that point. By the rules of the FEC the two democratic nominees had to wait for two new acceptable GOP nominees.

Cnn had an interview with Michelle Obama a while ago.
She said that; "we could actually make a better *world*."
Not a better *COUNTRY*, she used the word "world."
And I wonder just who she thinks would actually *PAY* for,..."a better world?"
Oh! Silly me, that'll be comming out of the $1.4 TRILLION tax increase should Obama be elected!
Why would anyone in their right mind vote for someone if they *know* that they'll be having a massive tax increase if that person gets elected?
LOL, they're panning over the crowd to get close-ups.
Older women in funny hats, a few looked like they were stoned.
Speaking of I haven't noticed young Patches Kennedy yet, he's probably in the "hospitality room" becomming "best friends" with the bartender.
LOL, I just saw a guy on TV with,.....a ponytail!
Ever hear of volunteerism? Where do you get this 1.4 trillion number from? Drudge? And what is wrong with ponytails? I have one. Chicks dig it.
