This is a story that breaks my heart.  I hope you all will read this to see the injustice this poor three year old is receiving from our society.

That's all I need to read.  The mother did it.

Seriously, the minute I realize I can't find my kid, that's the minute I'm picking up the phone and calling the cops.

I'm sure murder charges will follow once the DNA comes back.

And exactly what DNA would that be?

I agree that she probably did it, and I also think the grandmother is involved.  The problem is that she may flea or worse suicide, and we will never know what happened to the child.

What is wrong with us?

She can't flee.  She will have an ankle bracelet on her at all times.  She will be monitored.  Also the bail bondsman will be watching her to make sure she doesn't run anywhere with his half a million.

Preliminary DNA results are back.  I think that is why they were keeping her in jail.  I'm sure she will be back when the official DNA results come in.
Her father was an ex cop...after all they said there was a dead body in the car.  There was a significant stain inside the car where the dead body was...along with hairs from the kid.

There will be DNA...and unless it was another body somebody will go down for it.

Did what? Involved in what? Are you implying that they found a body?

I think they are implying that any DNA from a child found in a mother's car must prove that a murder occured...

Too much time in front of the TV apparently.

I don't know what it suggests, however the DNA I have heard about being tested is from inside the trunk and a stain..

So, 'they' are still waiting for those 'DNA results', but public opinion has made up its mind: the mum and the granny 'did it'.

We might as well do away with the law altogether: mob justice is where it's at.

There can still be a crime here without murder.

- There's an alarmingly high statistic of abductions by a family member versus abductions by a stranger.  Enter the possibility of "kidnapping."

- The baby black market is alive and booming for weirdos and sickos everywhere.  Here's "human trafficking."  (Incidentally I personally believe this is what happened with Madeline McCann.)

- NO MORE WIRE HANGERS EVER.  The kid could be locked in a basement somewhere for knocking over a vase.  Insert charge of "child abuse/neglect."

Point is, something fishy is going on if it takes 30 days for a parent (or anyone else, for that matter) to report a child missing.

So by saying the mother did it, really, that's alluding to more than just run-of-the-mill murder.  At the very least I have an inkling she probably knows something, which is obstruction of justice or aiding and abetting depending on the circs.

Adding up everything, seems very likely that something fishy is going on.  But a DNA match of a stain in a parent's car isn't exactly damning proof, just another circumstance that can be viewed as suspicious or explained away as benign.

See, but even that depends on the location and the size of the stain.

If it's a little stain in the backseat, well -- could have been an upset tummy or a sneeze or something like that, lord knows I puked in my mom's car enough when I was little!  But if it's a sizeable stain in the trunk area and the little girl has no medical history of being carted off to the emergency room for a serious accidental wound or something like that... I'd start to ask questions.

Of course come to think of it they're referring to it as just "DNA" and not simply blood, which an easy luminol and/or swab test would be able to confirm, so either they're withholding details until the investigation gets a little further, or it's some substance other than blood... which is where it gets interesting to play "What's That Stain?!"

Edit to add:  And the 30-day wait was what convinced me the mother had a hand in it, DNA be damned, I didn't even make it that far into the article on first read.  I can't speak for the grandmother, but seriously... I don't see how someone with a clean conscience could wait 30 days to report any child missing, let alone their own flesh and blood.

but...but Thadius....there might be a valid reason why this shining example of motherhood put her bleeding baby in the trunk.

Any parent who does not report her missing baby for 30 days...then cannot give info on the babysitter she left her with need to be in jail

i didn't have to call the cops however i did stop a performance so security could help me find my youngest during a crowded all-ages rock show.

waiting 30 days to notify police that a minor is missing - unacceptable and unexcusable behavior from any parent.

besides charging the mother, the family/relatives could be charged as well for being an accessory and/or withholding any information.

the interview i saw part of, the grandmother was the one who called the police.  she'd been trying to see her granddaughter and the mother is a drug addict and kept giving her the run-a-round.  the cock and bull story of "the babysitter ran off with her a month ago and i've been trying to find her" is what mama told grandmother, who then immediately called the police.

it just doesnt sound right to me, the mothers actions.

Anyone who has ever been a parent would have their offspring's DNA all over their car...including messy stains. Interesting that you know the stain in the trunk was blood, when did that get reported?

it was an "alleged" report...neither confirmed nor denied by the police.
It was said by me tongue-in-cheek.

And you are correct that a little ones DNA will be all over a car. Not all over the trunk if in fact that is the case, but yes to the car.

The issue i have with mommy-dearest is the 30 day wait. If the average mom's child was missing a 911 call would be made within 30 seconds.

Well just to set the record straight, , if an average Father's child was missing a 911 call would be made in 29 seconds.

I don't think the DNA in the trunk will prove to be of much use.  My child has been in the trunk, helping to get toys out, and all over the car.  It will take something else to be able to tie the DNA to transporting the body then just the DNA being in the trunk.

She did it, but they have to charge her or let her go.  In time they will charge her, most criminals screw up after they leave custody and start talking to people.  I think the Grandmother is on on it too.

Starting a pool now:  $20 says she sold the baby for crack/heroin/whatever.
