OP - As stated, depends on the seriousness of the screw up.  My best boy has misstepped a couple of times.  Once was very minor, once a bit worse because he hurt my feelings.  Both times, he was corrected... we discussed the problem and moved on.

DV - been there, done that.  My first husband was having an affair with my 'best friend' in my house, in my bed.  He came down with genital warts.  Considering that I 'cut him off' when I suspected that he was having an affair, his solution was to rape me on the stairs of our home... TRYING to infect me so that he could claim that I was the one who was unfaithful in the divorce.  I have no idea what he thought he would get out of that!  We didn't have any assets to fight over.  Needless to say, I tossed my bag in my car that very day and never looked back.

bottomboy, SUBS are not disposable.  HNG's and fakers ARE.

It honestly depends on how he "stuffed up" and his reaction when I find out about it.  If its a minor infraction, generally I'll give a punishment to suit the offense and then forget about it.  If its something more major like a "deal-breaker" then there are no second chances.
