Can you see submission or dominance in someone's eyes?

I have been told over and over that my dominance can be seen in my eyes.  Today I get a dom saying he reads all this stuff in my eyes and that I am really submissive.  I think my reply to him will show a bit more than my eyes, but it made me wonder what other's thought.

I think there are expressions that can seem or actually come from a dominant or submissive place... but I wouldn't gauge someone one or the other based on a picture or expression or two. lol

For myself...no. It takes a bit more than just a picture on a website for me to make a determination to MYSELF about what kind of person they may be.

Looking directly into a person's eyes, I can read a lot.  My favorite thing to see in the eyes of a sub is pain and suffering, maybe deisre, lust, love, hatred... you get the picture.  But not from a picture on a monitor.

Not from a photograph.

However, in person I think there is some validity to this, but it's not really the eyes; it how a person reacts when a dominant personality directs their attention towards them. If there is someting about that person that touches on the submissive part of that person's personality, it tends to show itself in a lot of subtle ways (how they react, how their body reacts, the movements of their head , eyes, hands, etc.) that can be "read" by someone accustomed to looking for that unconcious physical response.

If someone says they cantell from a normal photograph on their monitor, their system is experiencing an ID-10-T error.

I dont think so.  I have big dark brown eyes that are somewhat intense.  Half the people tell me I look determined and dominant.  The other half tell me I look like I want to be saved.
I have seen other profiles here whose eyes scream, take care of me I am an innocent doe!  But frankly after seeing some of them attack.. LOL I think the doe is a lure.

The eyes can show quite a lot.. But just what is shown depends on the persons mood and so much more. Now and then a picture can evoke a certain reaction, yet it's still a frozen moment in time.

Basically I think that people see what they want to see from an online picture.  I just love it when they come off all intelligent like... positioning you to move in for the kill. lol

In person... the eyes are amazing!

there is a picture of me that fallcon took...he tried 10 times for the expression he wanted.  finally he said "i want THAT look!" and i knew what he meant

its a weird mixture of shy, playful, and "if you get within arms reach i'm gonna turn you every which way but LOOSE."  its the one that drew Daddy's attention when i first signed up at collarme.

kitten who believes the eyes are the windows to the soul, but photos dont tell the whole story.  oh and kyst?  i get the same "needs to be rescued!" reaction from my deep brown eyes too.

Fuck yes.

Eye contact restriction is highway robbery for me .... it takes away one of the most important aspects of play, the connection with the perosn I am playing with. Even outside of play, even just sharing a joke with a friend, its all in the eyes for me.

Eye contact and behaviour, along with all forms of non-verbal communication are dead give-aways about a person's character. I feel that I can judge whether someone really is who the seem to be by what their eyes say. When you look someone right in the eye, you can tell a lot about their personal power, if they allow you to.

Eyes really are the windows to the soul, I don't trust people who keep the curtains closed.

Yeah, there's something about brown eyes that do that to people.

I've been told my blue green eyes have a submissive shy gaze about them.

That is of course unless I want sex.

Then they just burn through your clothes and my lashes lick you to orgasm.

and its why i like my glasses.  i can hide to a certain extent behind them, and not let just anyone in to see who i really am till i *choose* to.

It takes eye movement to truly be able to read them.  I know I have a bad habit of rolling my eyes though I typically pride myself on keeping a poker face.

In my latest profile picture I was trying for a look that I had read that most men respond to:  big eyes looking slightly up, playing with my hair - it is a look of innocence and willingness to be guided.  I had someone write to me to tell me how sad I looked and how I obviously was not meant to be a slave and should go back to being a full time Domme.  (I got many more emails complimenting me on the photo, even a couple where people told me that they wished they looked as sexy as I did.)  When reading someone's eyes it can be very easy to project your own feelings.

I totally agree. I also believe you have to be face-to-face with another person to get a good read. The computer monitor, to me, is really a safety buffer that makes it much easier to hide one's true character.

I agree that eyes are windows to the soul ... only in person, not on the monitor.
