I hardly ever post in these forums., so ignore me if you wish.

I have a free website that I have been using for almost a year.  You know how there are tons of free websites where there are ads forced upon you.  Well for the last couple of years Google has hosted google pages and a little application called google page creator.  There are 1000's of people who have created pages there.  Out of the blue google has decided to close googlepages.  Now I will admit it is not the greatest website solution, but as far as small and simple it is pretty damn good.  I am posting here asking, I just can't say "begging" for a little support to keep googlepages active.  Simple sign a petition on the web indicating that you want googlepages to stay.  After signing you will be asked to donate, this donation is NOT required, so all it costs you is a minute or two of time.  The web pages on google are of all different sorts.  Recipes, travel, funny shit, students learning. ME and my stuff, LOL
There are many "free" websites out there, but they all seem to have little issues.  Google tells us that we will be converted to another of their products, which really is mighty nice of them, except that it really is not much of a product, they bought it and now need people to try to use it.  You can see my website as an example.  Personally,  having been informed that they will be closing googlepages, I have looked at locating another host, which I may have found, that is better for me, but for a lot of folks that just want to have a place on the net Googlepages was a great place to be.

So put down that paddle, put away those whips and chains, get off your knees (hell stay on you knees if you can click a link and type) and help us out.

Thanks a bunch.

thanks for telling me!  I have used that. I was also banned...and I dont know why.

Anyhow try goodle docs.   ANYTHING that is time intensive should NOT be trusted to ANY online mode- free or paid.   do it up as a file store it on a USB memory stick- copy the stick.  then you retain the material.  even if the "service"  croaks.

I happened on freeservers dot com, and I am the ultimate technotard, but I liked their web site building tools and even more importantly, they never once threatened me about 'adult content' on my site.  Not so with other free web site services I had tried.  At the moment I'm fortunate enough to have a friend hosting for me on his own server for free, but I would still recommend looking at freeservers.  Even the cost of running the site wihtout ads is quite reasonable, if you feel like spending a little money on the site.

People sign petitions to "save the whales" and don't have a whale.  So helping out a group of people that have there web publishing fetish satisfied for free is the same concept.

Your ISP usually gives you X amount of MB for pages etc. Maybe you don't need anyone else.
