all of this stuff is easy, for the most part. but how much do you want to spend? A PLC controller, some servo motors (no, not the hobby radio controlled toy style) a solenoid for the locking mechanism, and the mechanics are all pretty straight forward.

(I am available for contract work. Have a machine shop, Automation/PLC experience and equiptment)
