I agree with this. I've seen some amazing pictures and then when I actually talked to the person I was so turned off I could no longer find the pictures appealing at all.

A striking photo; very arty, close-cropped hair, manly lips, direct eyes, and otherwise jaw-droppingly masculine. Love at first sight, which I never believed would happen to me, let alone from a picture.
And imagine my shock when I saw the same man in a vanilla situation! He has a distinctive scar, so it was indeed he. I sent him a photo of flowers I'd taken and he'd admired. He sent me a dozen blood-red roses. I've rarely felt the jolt from the first kiss I felt from him [like a bad Star Trek episode, 'Each kiss is as the first'], and never fell hopelessly in love as I did with him.
He was completely vanilla, but very, very interested and inventive in bliss, and a quick study in Tantra. Hours, ladies.
And now I 'get' all those love songs and poems, and why Uther Pendragon would destroy a kingdom, an army and a friendship for the person he loved.
He's also smart, empathetic, funny, well-read, and a great dad. But so good at his job, he's thousands of miles away helping people, so decollared.

A beautiful man, in every sense. And when I think of him, or good men, or good dads or male pulchritude in general, I smile and touch my mouth.

Oh yeah. I talked in Ims and on the phone to my dom/husband for a year without a glimmer of what he looked like. Frankly, I was hoping he was absolutely homely so all those in-love/lust feelings would go away.

He finally sent me a pic. I let it open slowly and dropped it to the bottom of my screen, it took me a long time to get the nerve to pull it up and look. Gawd, he was one of the most gorgeous men I've ever seen.

That was seven years ago. We've been married for five.

Yes .. when I first saw Kim's picture, I just knew. I can't explain it, I just knew I had to get to know her. After talking to her, that feeling only intensified.

Daddy says he felt like that after seeing the picture i had up on my original profile. and that he hasnt had a bit of regret in seeking me out and chasing after me till i fnally slowed down enough for him to catch me.

Yep, I sure have. There are actually a couple of Doms that look very "interesting" and one is local. Also, they both contribute quite often in the forum and the combination of their picture and their words are a bit intoxicating.

But, darn it all, they both have submissives.
