The solution - 7/27/2008 3:11:05 PM

This might not especially be a BDSM related topic, but I've come across several threads in My time that have talked about two of the areas this addresses.  Those being two complaints.  The first is people who do not read profiles.  The second is the emails we receive where it is blatantly obvious that the person who wrote didn't read the profile.  This stems into a third complaint that we often hear from others.  That being the 'why don't Mistresses write back' from the senders of those emails.

Lately, I've been using what I have termed 'the solution' when dealing with the areas above.  I've been using it for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say that I've had great success with it.  I really started doing it because I had received yet another cm-mail from someone who (again) hadn't read My profile, and I was a bit tired of saying the same things over and over when the information was readily available.  Sure, I could have just deleted it, but that doesn't change anything, now does it?

So, here's what I've been doing, and I thought others might want to take up the trend.  It's relatively easy, and I am almost surprised that I didn't think of it a long time ago.

It's as simple as leaving My own profile up in a separate window.  Now, when I receive an email from someone that obviously hasn't read something I have in it, I simply address whatever issue makes that person a bad match for Me by quoting My own profile.  I tell them it's exactly where I'm taking the information from, so there's no confusion.  Viola!

No, it's not the solution for world hunger or anything like that.  Still, I thought some folks out there might enjoy this funny, yet feasible idea.  What do you think?

*nods* That's pretty much what I do as well. My response to the folks without profiles is "there is nothing in your profile that would indicate that we have any common interests." If they write back asking for what I want, I graciously provide the link to my profile.

I get a lot of messages that say: "submissive white boi here to serve you, sir" - or numerous variations on that theme. I just delete them. In fact this is the very first time I've even mentioned this issue on the boards.

I've been on CM for over a year now. In that year, I got a better job, shortly after that I got a promotion with a $10,000 a year pay raise. I also met the woman of my dreams, though not on CM. In fact you could say that lack of results on CM caused me to look at another site where I found my dream girl.

See .. I found another solution. I figured out that the world is full of knuckleheads. I can waste time responding to them, or I can ignore them and go about the rest of my life.

My solution is something called FIDO.

It's a great solution, LP, but time consuming. Wouldn't you rather spend time doing anything else over explaining to people "Why no."

When I had to filter through 100's of applications, we used an Easter Egg system. 3/4 of the way through the instructions, we would include something along the lines of "Write your subject line in inverse capitalization so we can be sure those who read directions get priority response. Ex: "i'D lIKE tO jOIN..."

Worked for me.

some profiles are wrote in a way that- a sane person would not reply.  sometimes one can get a reply by aproaching these people.

no one wants to drive a distance to see anyone. so these sites as a means of dating are dicey.

I once thought the other should be an hour away. well these days I dont need it that bad.. and especially when the world has lots of eye candy.

also- pictures are misleading.  the right pic can make you look great or terrible.

i just send this greeting and expect nothing in return
yet i have recieved a lot of emails from people who say it has brought a smile and joy into their life
and then there are those who have blocked me

wishing u a super duper fantabulous awesome day
thomas michael
just a simple wish

if people who read my profile and journal can see that i am in the process of being put on a lung transplant list then what harm am i to them other than they do not like to recieve nice cheery emails nothing more nothing less but we shall see what we shall see

That is a good idea, Lady Pact.  I will have to try it.
The ones that send form letter spam are replied to with the "busy" or "thank you" form letters.

My favorites are the ones that include the statement "I have no limits", these are the ones that I have the most fun with.

I usually reply with a "Great to hear that, as I have had many new thoughts on using some of my new toys." Then I put in links to some of these wonderful tools...

For some reason I never get a reply...

Any suggestions on what photos I could use to scare off the dude who keeps pestering me about an "ANR" situation? (ANR=Adult Nursing Relationship = induced lactation)

I had to do a browser search on that particular acronym!

Actually, HK, it doesn't take that long at all.  Only about the same amount of time that I would spend making a two or three sentence reply to a post.  There are five phrases or less in My profile that tend to fit the bill for the majority of why I'm not interested in a person contacting Me.  I just lead in with the opening line of, "Let Me answer you with a short copy/paste from My profile" and then I'll throw out one of the key phrases.
