40 minutes- describes how the WTO  has us by the blank.  A country who adopts codex vs one that doesnt automatically wins trade disputes. It isnt that vits/minerals will be by rx, but as illegal as herion. Commen law does not apply. Meaning the substances you are allowed to injest MUST be on the list. 1 billion people in globe could starve.  12-31-2009 the new codex law becomes MANDATORY!

Well that's a somewhat hysterical response to something that's been around 45 years without causing the sort of chaos you just described. Not only that but the part of the Codex in question, CAC/GL 55: Guidelines for Vitamin and Mineral Food Supplements in no way seeks to make vitamins and minerals illegal, but to make sure they're properly labelled and marketed. It also doesn't automatically overide local law, stating, with regards to FAO/WHO organisation advise on substances that "In the absence of criteria from these sources, national legislation may be used."

Also, given that the section in question specifies that it only covers mineral and vitamin supplements, not food, how is it going to cause starvation?

You did not play the link.  The DR  in it goes into quite a few details.

The conditioning process is working apparently... according to the reaction you got.

Wake up when it's too late and you're to poor, fat and lazy to do anything about it.

Thanks for posting.

This would be the same Dr. Laibow who believes in drugless medicine, and who directs Natural Solutions Foundation, a group which even other anti-Codex organisations don't agree with? A reliable source, to be sure.

DomKen -> RE: For Terminator. Codex- WTO vitamins (7/27/2008 5:51:06 PM)

Would that be Rima Laiblow the psychologist who thinks alien abductions are real? That's a reliable source if I've ever seen one, not!

Maybe some other day.

celticlord2112 -> So what? (7/27/2008 7:37:11 PM)

"illegal as heroin"......

Considering the fairly broad availability of heroin....just how real a threat is this?

Even if this is true (which it isn't), prohibition has never been a workable answer to anything.

That's the text of the much whined about codex. Show me a single line in there that is bad for anyone besides quacks.

Prior to 1903 all drugs were legal in the US. Then congress thru Nixon, got tired of explicitly making each drug illegal- so "schedules" were put into law. In light of WTO, privatization of public commons, monsanto, and the general trend of world government controllin EVERY aspect of life.  I find this alarming. Also- with the recent housing bill that passed- EVERY credit card transaction will be "reported".  Do you really want the pack of cigarrettes you bought reported?  How about the psudedoephedrine sinus tablets?  Maybe the DVD you bought was too racy. Perhaps you bought too much cholestoral, or exeeded the amount of carbon you consumed. Big pharm loves Codex.  Because with all the deficiencies - they will sell more pills. But only their pills- as other sources are not legal, not on the list. In light of the eroding of the constitution, the past 8 years- take nothing for granted. Reporting every transaction.  OK- soon one will need a government ID to pay with cash. In the name of terrorism, of course.  Thats not counting that money will have RFIDs in it- as will meds. CAFTA- made the US subject to CODEX law. Will all the sloppy legislation these days, and most of you "trust"  the rulers? Well I dont.

Look I'm trying to be patient here.

Read the codex. It's 3 pages it won't be a big time investment. It regulates purity, minimum dosage, maximum dosage and labeling. There's nothing there keeping any legitimate manufacturer from making all the vitamins they want.

Now the quacks who encourage the gullible to take mega doses they have a problem becuase under the codex rules every bottle of vitamins will say what is the scientifically accepted maximum daily dose. Also the labeling rules will require the quacks not to sell vitamins as treatments for anything. No more selling multivitamins as miracle cures.

You can get all bent out of shape because the quacks you believe are whining about it but you might want to try opening your eyes and not believing every lie told to you by some con artist who tells you that the powers that be are suppressing his revolutionary discovery.

Foods thru processing have nutrients removed. Take whole wheat with the husk vs white bleached wheat, "fortified".   In PA they want to put glue into the milk so as to make more of it.  Simply put removed the protein, leave the sugar.  Add in the variations of food stuffs now available.  Case in point corn in everything and the rise of obesity and diabetis.

Under Codex  weeds from the garden would be illegal.  Anything consumed.  As the pdf said in pill powder ects form.
One has to be a chemist to food shop for foods that will enhance health not strip it.

Food and DRUGs.   Pharma doesnt want cures- they want to sell medications- which has skyroceted in the last 10 years.

Back to paint thinner in milk- and forced antibiotics and growth hormones.

Tow the line or be criminal.

The grid sint going to "tell" you they are enhancing the need for pharma - not in the least. Just like wall Street wanted no regulations in so far as mortgages.

So some dude in an office in Brussels "decides"- whom can consume what.

On the flip side- brushing teeth with antifreaze tooth paste from china - would make it seem unworkable.  Try to buy a med from Canada.  NOPE. Pharma wont let you. They claim meds are not safe.  Meanwhile Neuortton, celebrex, bextra- sold onto the population,  and my favorate... "lipitor" which they claim is appropriate for an 8 year old.

Have you ever seen these sales people at the DR office?

So say goodbye to supplements as we know them.  I am for a persons right to do what they want with their body.

As far as a govt "protecting" me, no thank you.  -look at the fight from food industry over country of origin labeling.   They dont want to do it.

Even stuff that says "made in America" isnt.  meanwhile pharma selling contaminated pills that were made, where? In America? Nope.  Overseeas.
