ORIGINAL: Alumbrado Wholesale/barrel prices having been dropping for several days, but they are still creeping up at the pumps... that alone pokes a big hole in the 'Its the SUVs stupid' explanation for high prices. They are charging whatever people are willing to pay, regardless of supply, demand, alternatives, or anything else. They might still be creaping up where you are, Alumbrado, but here where I am we're seeing lower prices at the pump due to the falling barrel prices. It's dropped from $3.79 a gallon a lil over a week ago to currently hover at $3.47 a gallon at the gasstaion Closest to my home, and $3.52 a gallon half a mile away. And the $3.79 was down from a high of $3.89 about a week and a half prior to that. Here in OKC at least, people get MEAN when prices don't fall at the pump even though overall oil prices and gasoline price/barrel rates are going down. It's one of the advantages of living in a state that's an oil producer and has a Lot of people very familiar with the oil and gas companies.
