My high score happened just before the Navy decided that I needed rehab. I said "No" and became a civilian again. After I got away from the Navy, I almost quit drinking without even trying. I was amazed when I still had beer left from a 6 pack at the end of a week. Now, I'm drinking a lot if I finish a six pack in a month. It was a bizarre transformation.
I guess the shock of "You should have died" added to "You're out of the Navy" had more of an effect on me than I realized at the time.

I have some hard-core alcoholics/addicts in my family too. One of my uncles drank so much that he sweated alcohol. He lived into his 90's though, outliving his last girlfriend. We used to joke that he was preserved by all the hard liquor.

Now I looked around and found that the highest ever was 0.722, but the guy was unconcious.
