Okay. Here's the story with me. I'm not generally a forum person; not because I have nothing to say, but because I am no good at keeping up with things like that. I also find that more often than not there is a limit to how stimulating forum conversations can be, as they seem to often be saturated with bad spelling, grammar, and inconsistent logic. That being said, I want to point out that I have only participate in much smaller forums in the past. I realize that CM has become quite large, and I hope this may help ease my troubles some.

I have also heard from several friends that all the real matches happen right here. On some level, I understand why that seems to be the case... however, there are also more rules of etiquette to play by. Up until now, my search for a second slave has been limited mostly to the personals section and chatrooms (for a very short time). I am getting tired of people constantly chatting once or twice and dropping off the face of the planet before they know anything about you. I'm also tired of sending letters to people with no response.

So, without further backstory, I decided to try and become active in the forums because of the above reasons.

PS: I did also read a few posts where people critiqued profiles, and I was wondering if anyone is willing to check mine out and see if it is okay.

It's true that CM can be a big place...Luckily, it's easy to waste lots of time on here! Whether you can be a dedicated forum lurker, or just pop on to read relevant advice and ask questions, I think you can get something out of the forum either way.

As to your profile, it looked great-except for one thing...there's no information about your other half! If you're looking for a third, the third's going to need to know both of you to make a decision. For all your profile states, your current girl could be entirely different from you. However, the grammar was good, you weren't overly lewd, and you seemed to have realistic expectations. That being said, I wouldn't be suprised if responses are slow-men outnumber women significantly in BDSM, and finding a third is exponentially harder than finding a second.

I agree with Katie about adding some information about your current slave to your profile as it reads very much as that of a single male.

The forums are a great way to get to know others and give them a chance to find out a bit more about you through what you say and more importantly, how you say it.

You know... I think that's a crock honestly. Women ARE vastly outnumbered... however, the difference between a first girl and a second girl is still only one person, out of the vast numbers that participate in the lifestyle. I also do not think it's hard to find a slave open to it... the problem is that the ones open to it are usually the ones that are taken. I have a theory though, it's not because they are open to poly that they are taken, but more often that it's because they are taken (and secure in their relationship) that they are open to poly. Which is the fact that makes it difficult to find a single poly-friendly slave. Anyway, done with the rambling. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Shadowraven, men don't 'vastly outnumber' women here. The perception happens simply because men are much more likely to send a message than women are.

that's a good point...

really good one in fact. I would still wager that men outnumber women, but perhaps concede that "vastly" was a bit over the top.
