He's very concerned about the situation on the Iraq-Pakistan border.

the icing on the cake is that in the description of the video it says, "when baghdad is more than 1400 miles from kabul," but kabul is the capital of afghanistan, not pakistan; the capital of pakistan is islamabad.

this is scary, though unsurprising. edited to add: i think henceforth we should require people to pass south asian geography tests to graduate fifth grade. or at least to run for the presidency.

Funny as shit, the U.S. State Dept criticised the Pakistani govt for having; "too open borders!"
HA, Ha, Ha!!!
("Duh,...Borders are Important,...aren't they?")

Not to mention the shared boarder of Mexico and Canada needs to be patrolled...

God, I hope John McCain learns to get on the internet soon... then he can pull up Mapquest, or Google Earth, or something... because now...he's just embarassing himself.

Again, Senator, it's the button on the top of the keyboard... the one with the little globe graphic on it... press that you are connected to the "series of tubes" known as the internet.

Bipolar, that's why I don't want McCain or Obama in.
The *Mexican Border* is much more important to control than a *FIRST WORLD COUNTRY* and,.......there's the ***DRUG PROBLEM*** with Mexico.
Any U.S. President who wants to "make nice" with Mexico" needs to be working on a loading dock, not to be in the White House.

OK, so now it's Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan and North Korea (which wouldn't exist but for our previous meddling).

Who else ? Hey, let's fuck with a REAL country. Let's tell Russia that they must disarm and have Hans Blix stop over there to make sure. And like in Iraq, attack them anyway.

I want this guy's drug dealer's phone number, he must be getting some really good shit.

Guess it's time to play name that advisor....

This advisor is credited with "strong-armed the Mozambique government into accepting Enron's bid for the vast Pande gas fields by shutting off humanitarian aid and threatening the president of Mozambique."

This advisor is credited with "oversaw the largest sell out of the century by working with Hughes." by concluding... ""It is my understanding that State has resisted vigorously Commerce attempts to do just that. For the national good, this situation must change. A commercial communications satellite is not a defense item. State Department control of satellites is not required for national security. Continued State Department control is damaging to the U.S. satellite industry and is not warranted." which lead to "Of course, all of these items were developed for military applications and China simply could not resist, sending all this technology into the development of nuclear warheads now aimed at America." and was only discovered upon "In fact, Hughes executives admitted that the satellites sold to China were military items. Ironically, the admission came when the company tried to sell Asiasat-3, a former Chinese satellite, to the U.S. military. "

Any guesses yet?  Awww okay, here's a few more clues.

He is credited with getting a certain president in the '90s to approve the sign waivers for Loral to export satelites and missile technology to China, while they were under investigation by the FBI... Clinton's waiver gave Loral enough cover to claim that any previous transfers of advanced missile technology were approved. The result was that the FBI had to close the investigation.

BUZZZZ... Times up.  This advisor's name is Anthony Lake.  "Lake is currently charged with drawing up Obama's future foreign and military policies."

For more information on this example of what a foreign affairs expert should be like, here is a great article where all of the trivia tidbits I included can be found. http://www.newsmax.com/smith/obama_anthony_lake/2008/05/12/95296.html

Bonus round... Name the president who rewarded both Lake, and Enron's Ken Lay with plum political appointments?

(Hint:  Think 'Blood for oil')

slvemike4u -> RE: McCain's the foreign affairs expert? (7/21/2008 7:55:11 PM)

Ohhh I know ,I know...pick me please...I know this one!!!!

Thadius -> RE: McCain's the foreign affairs expert? (7/21/2008 7:57:08 PM)

Well I can't think of any Republicans that had Lake as a political advisor... so hmmmm.  So I am gonna have to guess Clinton.

Sorry slavemike, you have to blurt out the answer when you buzz in...

That's right Thadius, it was President Bill Clinton, and the offices were National Security Advisor for Lake and head of the Economic advisory council for Lay.

Amazing how common sense leads to good answers, hmmm?

Thadius -> RE: McCain's the foreign affairs expert? (7/21/2008 8:25:46 PM)

Actually I get my information from all kinds of sites, it makes it easier to balance out the blatant propaganda on both sides... speaking of which wasn't it you that used a Huffington post article as a news source... or that opinion piece the other day from the NY Times?

Just sayin,
Thadius

Was Lay a crook at the time he worked for Clinton?

Or doesn`t that matter.Lol

Bush senior sold most of the tech to China. It was Bush Sr. that 1st hired the Chinese to launch our space satellites.WTF?!!

Damm fact!......

The story that Clinton "sold-out" to China, is nutso right-wing bull-shit.

I think you`re a little to open minded,Thadius.

One can be open minded and still discern the bull-poop from the truth.

I think the other things you said about Lake are bull shit too.You don`t even know it,because newsmax aren`t journalists or a news group, but rather a dirty tricks outfit.

Newsmax was behind the bigoted story that Mr.Obama was a secrete radical Muslim.Great call, quoting from them......[8|]

I think you`re a bit over your head with quoting from that bunch. It doesn`t reflect well on you.

There are plenty of legitimate conservative news sources, journalists and articles to choose from.

I think Mr Lake is a great choice as foreign policy adviser. He helped end two major wars.lol.

And he`s not a Washington DC lobbyist....

Guess that disqualifies him from working for a repuplican.[sm=rofl.gif]

Thadius -> RE: McCain's the foreign affairs expert? (7/21/2008 9:36:49 PM)

Well since you wanted other sources... "non-partisan" sources here are just a couple that I am sure you will agree aren't in the bag of the Republicans..

http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timestopics/people/l/anthony_lake/index.html?offset=40&s=newest A bunch of fun articles about the man.

http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/1997_cr/s970305-lake.htm

I won't include the speculation as to why he withdrew his nomination for DoCIA...
