I read some stuff about lolita and gothic lolita fashion, does anyone know where this type of clothing an be sourced? Not so interested in the gothic strand, just the vanilla :P

Alternatively, does anyone know anywhere selling actual female clothes similar to the kind you often see male 'sissy' subs made to wear? Preferably I mean actual clothing, not bedroom-wear, but I'd be interested in seeing anything in this kind of area.

Preferably somewhere in the UK, but stores that do international shipping are better than nothing.

Gothic and Lolita stuff can be found Stateside in stores like Hot Topic....and of course, right from Japan!  The issue with much of the readymade is that it is in Very SMALLLLL sizes,  definitely made for the Asian petite body type.  Have you seen the Gothic & Lolita Bibles?  Besides the fabulous photos, there are often pattern sketches that you can sew, or take to a seamstress.  Have fun!

I have family who are really into this. Hot Topic no longer sells anything remotely resembling Lolita and Gothic Lolita, at least not in our area. Everything we've gotten we've purchased from E-Bay or ordered online. It is -super- expensive. Making your own is a better option, and it's effective. Quite a few of the people who participate in this counterculture make most or all of their own clothing. Oh-- one more resource is anime cons.. there are usually a couple of vendors at the cons selling pre-mades.

I agree with Simone and Calla- I've found ebay is a great source for most stuff and just looking up random pics for my inspirations.

How could I have missed ebay, the bane of my existence??  And I forgot to mention Yahoo!Japan, which is the auction site of HELL.

I just spent at least an hour drooling all over my keyboard looking at the merchandise on that second site.  Thanks for the fantastic link!

http://www.cosmates.jp/

this site has clothes in male sizes too. anything that is loli is going to come with the goth. its the fashion, but that doesnt mean its not still amazing and cute. goth doesn't have to be all black :-)

also if you search google for lolita, gothic lolita, or cosplay you'll find a whole aray of sites

Nymphetish -> RE: Lolita Fashion etc (7/17/2008 7:45:39 AM)

There are lots of photos of Lolita fashion here.

Here's a list of different brands, and their websites. However, many of them don't ship internationally.

Beware of ebay! Most sellers, such as cosplay007, steal their images from major brands and pass them off as their own.

Closet Child
sells discounted brand Lolita clothing, and ships internationally.

Lolita is very expensive, at least the Japanese brands are. If you're just looking for something inexpensive and don't care if it's not  top quality, fan + friend will suffice.

You're both very welcome [:D] I've spent waaay to many hours looking at that stuff drooling all over the place too. Someday, I'll be dressed in all the glory of all those bows and ruffles[image]http://www.collarchat.com/upfiles/smiley/cute.gif[/image]

"Goth" stuff only comes with Gothic Lolita. There are a LOT of different forms of Lolita. Here are the ones our family's involved with:

Amai (Amaroria) Lolita (sweet Lolita) is very delicate. Think of the baby-dolls of the 1800s, with china faces and pastel colors, and long ringlets.

Himerori Lolita (Princess Lolita) is like Amai, but has lots of roses and delicate veils/headwear or crowns.

Gothic (or Goth) Lolita has a couple of sub-types. The one I'm most familiar with is Elegant Gothic Lolita. Elegant Gothic Lolita wears outfits based on the long, flowing, corseted dresses of the 17th and 18th centuries. The skirts are shorter versions of the bustle-skirts, and are often worn with corsets and shirtwaists. They even have their own music - Visual Kei (groups like  Malice Mizer) and Dir en Gray.

There are a million different paths to wander off onto from Lolita. One of our family members wandered off the Elegant Gothic Lolita track and entered a track referred to as VictoriIndustridal (Google Emilie Autumn or Adastrah for a glimpse of this style).
