It is like "Man bites dog", but not really humorous. And actually there are con artists all over the world, and this kid didn't really get it so bad. Many people have been scammed alot worse and lost alot more. A month's wages ? Try losing your freedom. Yes, every day young Women are scammed by these supposed modeling agencies. They don't even get the red flag of "money up front". They are told of how actors or models are needed in such and such country, and without even having to pay they are lured to a foreign country and sold into white slavery. Forced to work in sex clubs or whatever they call them for little or no pay, and actually held captive. Many are never heard from again. The white slavers are simply looking for fresh meat for their prostitution operations. The kid in Nigeria is lucky he is not a female hot little tight thing, or he might be part of the "dark meat" selection in one of these clubs, which exist in many places in the world. Tell you what, if I were to fall for this bullshit, I would rather lose money than my freedom. What there is of it, I add because of my political views. But I am not held captive by anything but my own desires. So the story does have the appeal of a car wreck, or like man bites dog. That is one thing alot of people need to learn, before engaging in something, especially involving foreign travel, speak to the principles involved. Let's say I get a scam going. Send all these emails to Nigerians claiming to be able to get them in the NFL. They could live in America, make alot of money and live like a rock star. Bet I could make some money, just leave their ass stranded in NYC somewhere. If this Nigerian kid was actually a scammer, I would laugh with you all, all the way to the bank, the bar, everywhere. To scam a scammer is a very worthy endevor. Should be doable as well. Most scammers look for people who want something for nothing, but the scammer himself does not realize that he is vulnerable for that exact reason. I have been tempted to try it, really. Don't really have a game plan though because I do not occupy my mind with it. This kid was scammed by some of the dirtier, filthier ones. They preyed on his ambitions, like the white slavers do. But he was lucky, and did get home. In some parts of the world he could've been sold into a labor camp. They make it look like an arrest, and sometimes it actually is, as the government is in on it. The world is a very dangerous place these days. Oh wait, it always was. T
