A New York man who says he was denied a seat on a five-hour jetBlue flight and was instead told to “hang out” in the plane’s bathroom has sued the airline for $2 million, saying he suffered “extreme humiliation.”

Personally I dont think he should have been allowed on the flight in the first place...safety and all that...what were they thinking??

Looks like they weren't thinking at all [:D] .

Typical Jet Blue bullshit. I expect nothing better from those fucking idiots.... FYI Lucy, they violated a number of Part 121 rules when they did this. You are right, he should NOT have been boarded. By law each passenger must have a seat. and he should not have been in the lavatory during taxi. take off, landing, or operations below 10000 feet AGL. During these times passengers must be in their assigned seat with the seat belt fastened. Civil suit aside, the local FSDO will have their balls for this and the pilot in command (Who is obviously a retard if he works for JetBlue in the first place! Any pilot with a brain laughs when JetBlue recruiters come calling! The pay is so bad that you can literally make more flying freight at night in a Piper Navaho and if you do that you dont even have to clean the cabin like a fucking janitor... ) can expect certificate action.

JetBlue is a bad joke of an airline.... This does not surprise me at all...

They pay pilots $47 an hour for an Airbus A320... By comparison UPS is $102 and FedEx $105 in equivelant categories of aircraft... Their per diem is roughly half of everyone else, and they make you clean the cabin between flights. Shortly after I left the Navy I interviewed with them and walked out laughing because I had a Learjet gig that paid twice as much... JetBlue is a joke, and they are well known for busting every regulation in the book both flight and maintenence... A couple of years ago they got caught with their cocks in the wringer for "conducting a study" on exceeding the crew duty limitations. Ie they had pilots flying more hours then they are legally allowed to and then tried to pass it off as a study. The FAA was not amused as those studies are usually done in simulators not in the air with paying passengers and a crew that is fatigued to the point of being unsafe...

NeedingMore220 -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/12/2008 6:36:25 PM)

Oh, my ... duly noted, thanks!

windchymes -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/12/2008 6:47:49 PM)

Yes, but do they pass out real peanuts?

NeedingMore220 -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/12/2008 7:10:01 PM)

I actually think they charged for those!  lol

JetBlue Reprimanded for Fatigue Study

JetBlue received a reprimand from the FAA for allowing pilots to fly beyond their flight and duty time in an experiment to study pilot fatigue. Pilots flew as many as 11 hours a day on more than 50 flights in May 2005 to study alertness. Motion detectors were worn on the wrists of the 29 pilots in the study. In addition, hand-held devices issuing prompts and recorded response speed were used. JetBlue said a third pilot was always on board in case of problems. FAA issued a letter of correction for the experiment but did not fine the airline. For more, read the Oct. 30 issue of Air Safety Week.

That was just typical of them... So making a passenger fly on the toilet is no surprise LOL.

petdave -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/12/2008 9:39:16 PM)

Heh, i fully expected to see an article announcing that they were going to be the first company to implement pay toilets on their aircraft...

slvemike4u -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/12/2008 10:10:38 PM)

No THAT was funny

Vendaval -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/12/2008 11:53:45 PM)

I read the title and thought this was going to be about the super-splash-bidet-toilets at certain airports.  The kind that have an overly-sensitive-sensor that automatically flushes when you close the door, when you sit down, when you lean over to tie your shoes and when you stand up to exit the stall.  [sm=gaah.gif]

PanthersMom -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/13/2008 1:13:23 AM)

i knew the airlines were cutting back on passenger seating space but geez, this seems to go a little far, at least give the guy a seat belt and a bag of peanuts!
PM

kittinSol -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/13/2008 5:36:56 AM)

And the least they could do is provide the passenger in question with a discounted blow-job by the captain [8D] .

When you actually READ THE ARTICLE, you learn these interesting facts:

But Mutlu was allowed to board after a jetBlue flight attendant agreed to give up her seat and travel in an airline employee “jump seat.” It was not clear in the lawsuit whether the flight attendant was working.

Lucylastic -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/13/2008 8:02:23 AM)

ok Kitten you nearly owed me a new monitor over that, I lost total control of my coffee and my mouth and now its all over the damn place, thanks, [:D]

....i didn't realise that jet blue was an airline so thought it was going to be about some kind of toilet cleaning product. Odd the subjects that turn up in these fora.

slvemike4u -> RE: Jet Blue Loo Blues (7/13/2008 10:41:51 AM)

Philo it's the subjects You find odd, damm wait till You start reading the responses!!!!
