I'm not drawn to people with multiple rants and demands in their profiles.....i figure if they have that much negativity in a simple profile what does it say about their personalities and life expectations? I prefer to surround myself with people who have positive energy......

Great post Stephann- it reminds me of how I met a very dear friend recently. He contacted me on Alt, his profile clearly states, 'not looking, I have found her'...very sweet....anyway, he was coming to the area for the race and politely asked if I would meet him for a drink while he was here. I was totally comfortable meeting him at a local restaraunt because I thought, 'oh he isnt seeking, not just another pussyhound'..{and he wasn't} .I agree, 'not looking' in the profile is very misleading.

It is hard to picture Stephann as a troll! lol I don't believe it! Not for a minute! A troll isn't someone who simply wants to play. A troll tries to force's their will, desires and agenda upon a person they do not know and has no reason to expect play, but does. What Shephann has discribed is not what I see a troll as. Someone wanting to play that doesn't degrade you or force themselves on you isn't a troll... lol... might be a sexy, horney person... but not a troll! This reminds me of the old saying... when she says no, she really means yes. But then I had an ex that tried to teach my boy um's that if they (girl's) don't give it up, that they should just take it. He believed that no meant yes. Anyone sending mixed messages is a crazy maker to me. lol Don't say what you don't mean. Most will say something off-handed that may not line up with things they really mean and not realize it sometimes, but for the most part really mean what they say. I am not talking about them. But when people say things they don't mean, for whatever reason... it sure is confusing! Good post Stephann!

Real quick, when I say I'm a troll, it's because I consider the term to equate more with a person who uses a personals website mainly to meet others in real time, without a huge investment in online get-to-know-you. Different people define the term differently, certainly; I'm just chafing at the overt expectation that is regularly made, that a desire to meet should be something to apologize for. I have nothing against people using this, or any site, in any manner they wish; I view my profile very much like I do my house, mine to do as I wish within the standards of a community. When I walk by a shamble of a house with barbed wire, guard dogs, search lights, broken glass, and a guy sitting on the porch with a shotgun, I feel that steps well outside of my communities standards. Well, Lockit, then by at least part of your description, and perhaps some of Stephann's as well, I could easily be considered a troll. The truth of the matter is, by some standard, all of those people who might be looking for casual play could be considered to be of the troll persuasion. I probably wouldn't be so harsh as to say that those people looking to fill a Top/bottom situation are trolls, but that's due to the fact that not all tops and bottoms fill the rest of what was said. If I happen to notice someone who might have good potential for a casual bottom, and they don't specifically have things in their profile that would make Me think otherwise, sure, I put a feeler out there to see if they are interested in playing in some way. No, I don't generally do it if someone has phrases in their profile such as, "I don't play casually" or"No married/poly people". However, if I find that someone has a bit of masochist in them that might mesh well with Me as a sadist, why not? The worst they can tell Me is that they aren't interested, or send Me the occasional "wtf?" when I mention and interest in an itch I might want to scratch.

I do find some of the NO MEN profiles quite funny. when I'm profile surfing I'm not just looking for submissive or slave profiles. I check all women of any orientation who are looking for anything and have a picture because...why not, I like looking at the fairer sex. the 'no boys allowed' profiles are rarely a deterrent. if I find someone who I find interesting in any way or if I have a question about their profile, I will send them a message regardless. 90% of these are deleted/unread, which is fine by me. I leave it at that. I do find something funny about these women getting on their computers and seeing blue in their mailbox and saying to themselves 'ugh another man, deleted!'
