Say suddenly a new thread appears and it's full of kiddie porn.  I want to get that crap dealt with asap so I click the "report" button to notify the moderators right away.  It asks me what the nature of the report is, and I'm required to enter free text.  I try "inappropriate images" but and send the report, only to be told that "inappropriate images" isn't a valid category of report.  I try "kiddie porn", to no avail.  "Spam", "Porn pics", and "Rules violation" yield the same result.  There's no pull-down list of offenses to choose from, and no help button.

How does one report posts?

Thanks in advance.

I put 'TOS Violation' as the header, then I put 'Tos Violation, underaged discussion' or whatever the problem is.

I follow the same formula each time because as you mention there aren't clear directions for the forums or the profiles that need reported. Oy. I've had to edit this a bunch of times due to hyperactive typing, so apologies if this is choppy!

TOS Violation, hmmmm, ok.  Seems rather vague, but if it gets the post reported in some manner, it'll do.  Thanks camille.  Stay away from that epilator eh? ;)

Ah the epilator was just the beginning. Somewhere around here is the tale of Nair on my tail.
Yup I put 'spamming' or 'fill in the blank' as appropriate.

Nair on tail............ hmmmm not sure I want to know!
Thanks for your help.  I'll keep your advice handy for next time something nasty pops up on the boards.

Why report the post?  I doubt people are stupid enough to post kiddie porn.

Never doubt the stupidity that Anonymous internet posting breeds.  If you want further proof of this, go visit a chan board.

I report stuff like that because this is a free site and the Moderators can't catch everything. If I see something that has blatant TOS violations like um say.. kiddie porn? Yup I am hitting the report button.

My question is, why wouldn't someone report it?

Button that says report, gold to the right and bottom, right out there in front of god and everybody.

I can assure you Eleven will snatch that fucker off the face of the earth.  Now, I really don't know Eleven personally, other than  a 'pull over let me see your papers way......'  but I am thinking Eleven gets hundreds of reports everytime Eleven signs on.

I can also assure you that Eleven, as well as the folks who have lesser numbers, including Zero, ain't gonna stand for shit like that one millisecond.

Thanks for this thread.... I tried to report something the other day, too and couldn't figure out how.  Camille... you da bomb.

And yes, a drop down menu would be great!  I like that we are conscientious about this.

peace,
sunshine

The mods here do an exceptionally good job of keeping material that is illegal and/or against TOS off the forums. From observation, I know that posts such as those the OP  refers to,  go "poof" in no time, and the poster goes "bye bye".

Yall are right in that they need help where to look first though, smiles....But, TOS Violation is enough as camille said in the header, the body is where you can put what the exact violation is.
