I think that is an absolutely FANTASTIC idea! Truly fabulous technology and much much much safer for the passengers and crew that what flight crews are currently being trained to do post 9-11 (Im not going to say what it is) I would like to see that system implemented ASAP.

And before bleeding hearts start crying about who would have control over it - the flight and cabin crews already have total control of your very life. In a B-737 myself, or any other pilot, could cleanly kill every man woman and child in the cabin by flipping 4 switches and turning a knob. Im not talking about crashing he plane, Im saying we could literally kill everyone in the aircraft and land with a planeful of corpses. Remember that the people flying airliners are for the most part military officers who have flown heavily armed planes including some with nuclear weapons. They are certainly trustworthy with this non-lethal system...

Im excited about this PaHunk, thanks for bringing it to my attention Im going to look into it further. Thats REALLY great.

The bracelet idea will probably get thrown out by some liberal judge who does not realize that the mere fact people think they are going to have to go through this will stop them.  It won't be until the first time the government has to shoot down a civilian plane that people will look back and say that bracelet was a better idea than death.  While I do not agree with killing passengers, I do agree with the idea the pilots should be able to sedate all the passengers in the case of an attemted hijacking.

~Fast Reply~

I've got mixed feelings on the issue. If I felt sure that the bracelet would stay limited to airlines, I would be in favor of it. But I feel that it will become a slippery slope. If it goes through, I probably won't fly again unless required.

DomAviator -> RE: chritians against mental slavery? (7/9/2008 8:25:00 PM)

mstr - dont get me wrong Im NOT in favor of the idea of executing planeloads of passengers. I said what I said merely to show that the flight crew is already in control of systems far more potenially detrimental to the passenger well being than this non lethal device... I saw on the blog comments linked from the site that people are already bitching about the crew having the technical ablility to stun the passengers and I was merely pointing out that they already have the technical ability to kill or seriously injure the passengers and they have not abused that power....

It's an idiotic idea, and there is nothing conservative about forcing people to wear shock bracelets with a tracking device.  I don't know where people got this idea that conservatives support the government having this kind of power.  It's not conservatism; it's fascism.  I rarely fly, and I would absolutely refuse to if they started treating passengers like dogs.  People are such sheep, they would probably buy into an argument for being made to wear these.

Zensee -> RE: chritians against mental slavery? (7/9/2008 11:58:25 PM)

Like almost of every other precaution forced upon us, it is only an annoyance to the average passenger, not an obstacle to a dedicated terrorist.

So you can't take more than a few ounces of toothpaste or hand cream in your carry on baggage even though, in the right hands, such a minuscule amount of explosives, properly applied, could tear a new asshole in anything that is presently in the air.

And the average passenger cabin contains dozens of common deadly devices and opportunities for a person with training in close combat. Which is why I personally advocate the isolation drooplet approach. Each passenger has an individual, coffin sized cabin which can be ejected from the mothership at the first sign of thought crime...

Z.

PS: I guess these guys would know mental enslavenment technologies well. I consider the bible to be one of the most sucessful ones so far.

Lucylastic -> RE: chritians against mental slavery? (7/10/2008 6:07:08 AM)

hahahah Zensee, people would be calling me Ejection Lucy if thought crimes became a way of ejecting people...I do some of my most interesting fantasizing on planes.
Altho I do have flashbacks to the simpsons "Shocking episode" and giggle hard, I think I would find another way to travel. I dont see it as being a good thing.

Yea, I some guy making 6 an hour to fit me with a taser.  While I predict this will never see the light of day, it would make great news to see the court cases about how the terrorist switched his with an elderly lady, the shock stopping her pacemakers.  The would-be terrorist was tackled and beaten anyhow.

Good idea. My own variation: sleeper transports.
