I've owned a motorcycle for the last 5 years.  Never ridden anything beyond a dirt bike.  Yet my motorcycle is a Honda C-750 I believe.
It's too large for me.  I inherited it years before my father passed.  He didn't want anyone else to get their hands on it.
I've no clue what to do with it.

I'm told its a touring motorcycle?

want to sell it, cheap? I guarantee it would be in good hands..
God I miss riding.

I used to have a 77 HD Lowrider (Troublehead motor).  *sobs* She died on I405, just 50 ft from the top of the Hill.

I always wear heavy boots when riding to protect the feet and ankles if I go down. Whenever I see someone on a sport bike wearing sneakers or sandles, I chuckle. To each their own. *shrugs*

around here, where helmets are optional for over 18s what never fails to make me shake my head at the idiocy of some people is the (obviously adult) riders who wear the full face helmets.... with shorts, tank top or no top, and sneakers or sandals....

2001 Softail standard. Well, it was standard. After about five grand invested she's hardly standard anymore. I always loved the Softail. If you look at the lines it has curves like a woman laying on her side.  She's "sinister" blue. And she is one sexy bitch. I gave her a porno name: Stephanie Softail.
For the record...I always wear boots when I ride. I almost always wear My helmet. (Now that I've got a thin carbon-fiber DOT helmet that doesn't make Me look like the human cannonball.)

i wear a full-face helmet (well, modular flip-up), boots, jeans, gloves, and a t-shirt this time of year *shrug* it's all a matter of what you're comfortable with.

What i find amazing is the kids who have to wear a helmet because it's the law, so they get their parents to buy a fancy full-face with a paint scheme that matches their brand new GSXR or CBR... then they leave it unbuckled, or even better, ride around with the chin bar propped up on their forehead, and the helmet hanging half off their head! Yeah, you can make me put on a helmet, but you can't make me protect my brain, chumps!

However, the shorts/wifebeater/flip-flops look is by no way limited to the crotch rocketeers... about the only people i see in full gear around here are the sport-tourers passing through. Flat, straight roads and a murderous heat index make people lazy.

I wear a full-face helmet. It's a Shoei Hornet DS, which is extremely well-ventilated and has a huge face shield so that I hardly feel confined at all. Well worth the $450 I spent. If it gave me a claustrophobic feeling, there's no way I'd wear it. I currently don't wear any other protective gear except gloves. I have to admit that the idea of wearing a jacket, especially in this heat, and especially after I've had so many happy rides with the wind blowing up the sleeves of my short-sleeved shirt, doesn't appeal to me much.

On the street I ride Yamaha R6, on the track I ride a built Kawasaki ZX-6r
I just came back from a track day. Out of 48 people  3 crashed. One was going 120mph when he highsided I got to see him fly and flip through the air he landed on his back. After lying there for 3 minntues and recovering from shock he walked away with lots of sore muscles and bruises but no real damage. Wear yout gear folks it works!

My favorite is the precious girlfriend on the back of the sport bike.. mini skirt, flip flops.. bikini top.. and then the $800 helmet... very scary how easily a passenger can come off the back of that...

I personally sport the shorts/tank top option with a full face helmet. The temperatures here exceed 110F on a daily basis. It was either shorts or heat stroke... both can ruin your day in a crash.

I wear the same type of helmet. Gotta love that flip-up! Like you I go the boots (because GreedyTop yelled at me for wearing sneakers in my pic ) , jeans, and gloves route. Usually I wear my leather jacket, but on these humid 90-degree days I switch to light long-sleeve shirt with my leather vest and ride oh-so-carefully. A statistic is not something I want to be. Everyone already thinks I'm crazy because I didn't learn to ride until I was 47. And my mother still checks the newspaper every day for motorcycle accidents.

BTW, my bike's a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero 750. Just the right size for me for now. My husband's got a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 950. When we ride together, I go first, because otherwise he walks away from me. lol. Next bike I might get something bigger.
Our previous bike was a Yamaha 650 (looked like police bike) and I didn't like it at all. Even brand new, something was wrong with the shifting and the gas tank was just too wide.
