How do you describe a man who at the age of 44 has had a career as each of the following... priest, prison governor, youth worker and Deputy Mayor?

I saw him on the Newnight he seemed like a man of the people type man , not your typical politician.

A shame but the non political minded are often easy pickings for those political cynics.

I think you're generally right in describing his presentation but still, claiming to be a JP when you're not is just nuts.

Not sure how that occurred he must have known he would be found out unless it was a case of someone misunderstanding his previous posts and making misrepresentations about him. Then again he did use the term JP in his speech, maybe he had a sketchy idea of what a JP was after reading what someone working on his team had written about him after misunderstanding his past posts themselves. Like if someone told me they were this and I described them as something else but with the same meaning but I was wrong in thinking it had the same meaning and not a slightly different meaning then the other person also thought I was right in describing them that way because they were unsure themselves.

A lot of talking up of previous posts goes on in all walks of life. The bloke that won the apprentice lied on his CV I’m told.

Raechard, I find I can't disagree with you.

One thing to bear in mind - when a scandal like this breaks, it's unusual for all the details to emerge in the first 24 hours. So expect further revelations in the coming days and weeks...
