quote:
ORIGINAL: RedMagic1 "The complete obstruction of blood flow to the brain or asphyxia by complete closure of the trachea (windpipe) will result in irreversible damage (if held too long) to the body and possibly in death. However, in 99 percent of the choking techniques there is not complete blockage of the trachea." Source: http://www.judoinfo.com/chokes4.htm That's about blood chokes. 99% of the time means there's complete blockage of the trachea once if you do it 100 times. If you play twice a week, you're odds-on to reach that situation within 18 months. Bolded for relevance. In air chokes there is blockage of the trachea. In blood chokes there is not. quote:
Another weakness to your post is that you make it sound as though only the choker needs to get info, etc. I'm sorry you interpreted it that way, but I made no specification as to who should get the info, and intended for both. This is why I said, and I quote, "I STRONGLY suggest anyone interested in participating in "the choke thing" do a great deal of research on it... watch some videos, read a lot, or take a class." Bolded for relevance. quote:
Martial artists train as the "chokee" also -- how to tap out, and how to recognize it's time to tap out. This is true. Exactly why I said anyone interested in participating in the choke thing should take a class, do some reading, watch some videos, etc. quote:
Furthermore, the martial arts info refers to athletes, and most BDSM practitioners aren't. No it doesn't. A choke is a choke. 5-10 seconds, no matter how big you are, and you're out. Release when they're out, and you've done zero irreversible damage. quote:
Hell, even the Viagra commercials say to ask your doctor to make sure you're healthy enough for sexual activity. Any sub looking for this needs to be proactive in learning about it, and physically healthy. Being physically healthy is a pretty obvious given, and since I already clearly stated that everyone interested in participating in "the choke thing" should learn about it first, I really don't see your problem.
