With as many variations as there are in the lifestyle, to some maybe the roleplay IS the real deal. Some can only find the guts to do ths online becaue they are either embarassed by the desires or they are stuck in a vanilla place that wouldnt allow for it.
Others do not have the experience yet to know that the role they see in erotica and in porn isnt what a dom or a sub really is. They will learn, if given time.
AS was said early, what you believe is real might be roleplay to someone else. Its a search for someone who sees things as you do, which is difficult. That doesnt mean anyone who doesnt is not real. We are all playing the game, some just have different rules for their side of the board
