China on back.

Status: offline 		I just assume that the only thing that is really organic is the stuff I grow. Otherwise...........it's a crap shoot.

The video would'nt play I saw that ad 4 times.

Who says China can't have organic food?  Just because somebody says they wouldn't buy from them.
Whole Foods is not hiding the fact the food came from China. 
As consumers we are taught to read labels.  If you don't well you get Chinese California Blend.

i'm past the point of caring about such things. i buy organic when i can find it and afford it because it tastes better. and i don't like the thought of glowing in the dark later. but it's not that big of a deal for me. most organic comes packaged in plastic anyway which means it's already more than likely contaminated  with leeched chemicals. i had someone yell at me recently for eating aspertaine and non-organic foods. my feeling is i have to die from something, and frankly, most people who pay that much attention to organic are still being contaminated in some way shape or form even if it's just breathing.

On my little patch of heaven it is always composted horse..........recycled grass and grain. I have a never ending supply.

my dad (i have a royal black thumb) always uses horse. it stinks but it seems to work.

Status: offline 		I have almost an antipathy for food itself, and certainly for the entire food industry.  What happened to delis and bakeries?  Small neighborhood grocery stores?  I don't want or need an entire aisle the length of a football field dedicated to cereal, for the Love of Mike.  Instead, I need food I can afford and which is edible; not poisionous or just plain gross.
 
I have zero interest in organic food, kosher food (but I do like some Jewish cuisine); free range chickens, and all the rest of it.  To me, the real loss is the attrition of the small family farm and the rise of 'agro-businesses' that become massive polluters and end up introducing substandard edibles into the nation's food supply.
 
It doesn't matter to me if anyone wants to be a vegan -- personally I can't imagine putting so much effort into attempting to met your basic nutrional needs as a vegan, but if it floats your boat, I certainly don't object.
 
I miss gardening for vegetables, I will admit that.  It was so much fun, so pretty, and the vegetables tasted so good.  I just don't have the space to do it now.
 
But mostly I miss buying food from small businesses, at reaonable costs, which was at least partially localy grown and thereby supporting other small businesses and farms.

Operating costs forced them out of business.  far less profit margin when operating out of a small building compared to a warehouse   and purchasing low volumes.

When I have the time I go to farmers markets  especially the ones near old order amish communities  offers a great assortment of baked good without a bunch of preservatives, veggies grown without  all the chemicals, fresh eggs  often picked the day before ..so has not sat in couple warehouses before getting to the store and naturally ripened on the vine   and usually near them there are german communities so often a great source from deli meats made in old world tradition as well as their  baked confectionaries
