This is SO cool!!

sappatoti -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/24/2008 11:33:05 PM)

It is an awesome design concept. I hope mankind's building technology is equal to the task or else there will be lots of condo units jammed together when they attempt to move.

Gridlock in the sky...

the guy says by 2010.. we'll see.. I hope he can make it work..

I keep telling my nephews that their interest in all things Lego and annual pilgrimage to Lego Land will pay off big!

GreedyTop -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 12:06:42 AM)

LOL vendaval!!

ownedgirlie -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 12:26:03 AM)

Oooh I love it.  And self generated wind-power!  Awesome.  And "only" $3,000 a square foot!  [8D]

I want one!

OG..dont forget you can park your vehicle ;)

housesub4you -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 5:43:26 AM)

That is a really great design, a lot better than the old steel and glass concept, but it's gonna be hell to catch an elevator in there

lovepuppy -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 6:25:13 AM)

eventually you won't have to leave yoru living space, it will connect you to shopping as your "cube" (for lack of a better term for your living space) moves to a parking spot in a bigger more fashionable shopping cube, you can go to the gym, but connecting your cube to the gymn cube, and eventually people can be born in their cubes attached to the OB ward, and die in thier cubes attached to the funeral home cube.  It will make play parties really nice as everybody can bring thier dungeon with them.

no gas spent on transportation since all the needs of life will be brought to the forest of towers via conatinor-cubes on tracks from the ports powered by the solar-panel wastelands that surrond cities.

I don't know.

If this is the future, I think training your kid in the use of a survival knife and non fire arm hunting, might be a good idea, ya know just in case.  Oh wait you can hook your kid up to the survivalist cube too, makign it so much easier...

at some point we need to stop making babies or the species will end up with a zoo animal mindset....'food comes out here'.  if all you know your entire life is the 1000 square feet of your living cube and the various things you can attach it too, it kinda makes orwell look like an optimist.  It's already starting, quick, which way is east from where you are sitting right now...if you don't know, but you DO know how to use every funciton on your blackberry...maybe you should get up early one morning just to see which way you see see the sun first.  Human animals do best when they are free to range, not live in an aquarium.  --just an opinion.

Yep: if you're not already a CEO then that's how the rest of us are going to have to get by.  I'm sure they'll have a superb panoramic view of the starving masses.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 9:05:43 AM)

It is cool looking.  I don't know if I'd want to live in a moving building though.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 9:28:52 AM)

I am so seasick just looking at it from the outside!!!    er..... building sick/ cube sick/ rubiks sick   ..   what ever!

Riff -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 10:01:45 AM)

Now... if you decided to crash a plane into it would the plane whizz around a few times and then ping out harmlessly?

GreedyTop -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 10:33:13 AM)

omg, Riff.. thats just so WRONG!!

(funny.. but wrong.,..LOL)

lol.  why use planes at all anymore?  when there is a solid concrete strip from NYC to toyko, you could load your cube onto a highspeed rail and be there ZING faster than getting through customs now.  Add in the advances in IT and remote-robotics and nobody will have to leave thier office anymore if you need to fix somethign for somebody just have thier personal servo (comes with the cube) hold the tools while the repair doobie pilots the repairs from 5000 miles away.

Though I really like the image of a building and plane playing bull and torrieodor with lunges and dodges.

popeye1250 -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/25/2008 10:58:49 AM)

No thanks, I like living in a condo on a golf course.
In the mornings, if I leave the slider open the night before, I awaken to hear the golfers swearing when they miss a shot on the green out back.
"Alarm clock? I don't need no stinkin' alarm clock!"

PanthersMom -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/26/2008 11:25:25 AM)

i'd never get my head out of the toilet!  i'd be so motion sick after about five minutes it wouldn't be funny.  the docs tell me since i can't feel my feet i use visual cues to help me keep my balance when i stand.  i'd be screwed in a place where the view was always changing.
PM

fungasm -> RE: Dynamic Skyscrapers (6/26/2008 11:45:43 AM)

I wouldn't want to live there- but I'd love to have a lover who did.
