I admire that person's self-awareness along with having the nerve to admit it.

Now all we need are the dominant submissives who are always topping from below to do the same -- they'd be perfect matches for the submissive dominants.

Come on you guys.  I've known women who were sub to me and Domme to others.  The maledom who led the wax play demo that just blew my mind was a slave until he met his current partner 7 years ago, and because of their love for each other, he explored his Dom side, and his identification is now "Master."

Sometimes people are confused or insane -- and sometimes they are just complex.  They manifest different pieces of their personality, depending on who they are with.

First and foremost, while the use of multiple labels may appear to be confusing.   You have to keep in the context in how they are being used.   The best way to find out why somebody uses multiple labels is to simply ask them.

Now with that said.  There is an order of importance in the use of multiple labels.  It's either in ascending or desending order.

If I were to read  "Sadomasochistic Submissive Dominant"  on a profile, I would glance at thier orientation they have selected.  Submissive, slave, switch, or Dom/me.   This would give me a clue regarding the ascending or descending order of importance in the labels.

If they list themselves as a switch, I would be expecting somebody a long the lines of a "Laura Croft" type of girl.  A strong will girl that loves to play rough who is looking for a worthy Dom partner in crime.   Pretty Easy, she's a Tomb Raider type of girl, not some quiet and meekly girl that wants to sit in the corner naked and caged at your beck and call.

Remember submissive or Dominant can also define one's personality not just thier relationship role.

If the person has listed themselves as a "Switch", I would suspect it's somebody who wants to be submissive to one partner, yet be Dominant with others.   Switch in terms of partners.

Also, this could multiple label could mean somebody who's willing to go between DOM Power Couple Mode, to being D/s.

Could also mean somebody who wants to be DOM outside of the Bedroom and Sub inside the Bedroom, or perhaps the other way around.

It's rather difficult to simply know in a heart beat what the other person means.  It's best to look at the profile for other clues.

If you are confused about it, simply respond to their profile and ask.

Some people, are using Multiple labels to best describe themselves and not mislead other people.

In terms of SadoMaso, they enjoy dishing out and recieving pain.

Biggest mistake to make is to assume that their Maso side is strongly connected with a submissive side.   Some people develop Maso sides as a means of defense against being controlled by other people and in fact can turn it this around.   Basically, who wants to pick a fight with somebody who can withstand a lot of pain type of stuff.   Basically, Masos have less fear of pain, and pain well is not a very effective method of trying to control a maso.

Personally, I see a trend for perhaps a more of a "Laura Croft" Tomb raider type of submissive to be on the rising horizon of things.  But that's just my own opinion.   I tend to think this is perfectly natural order to the universe, even more so considering the number of  "Doms" or those with "Dom" profiles that well franky are just assholes.   So I tend to think some DOMs will have to prove themselves worthy of submission by these stronger willed, not put up with bullshit type of subbie girls.  Again, this is just my opinion on the matter.  Opinions are like assholes, I know, everybody has one.

However, considering the rise of powerful female action heros in our society, and the large supply of batshit crazy Doms.. seems like a logical thought process.

Think of it a bit like owning a Pit Bull, don't truely abuse the dog, if you do be prepared to deal with the consquences of your own actions.

Anyways, these are my own thoughts on this subject.

I just signed on, and these words happened to greet me from the random sign on profiles we all see when we come to CM. It read "Sadomasochistic Submissive Dominant."

I'm curious if anyone else identifies this way and if so, do you consider yourself a Dominant, a Submissive or a Switch?

PL

Is "masosadistic bottom switch" close enough?

I've heard of sadistic subs and masochistic doms, but "sadomasochistic submissive dominant" sounds like someone who is confused.  Or maybe a switch.

I think people can be whatever they want to be,with the right partners.

I, on the other hand, find comfort in a rather boring and unexciting consistency in a partner-and knowing pretty much what to expect fifteen minutes from now.

Sounds like a switch to me. *shrug*

I've not met the person in question, so I couldn't say if they were serious or not, but I can see where they are coming from.

It is very possible for a person to be both sadist and masochistic. If you disagree, than I'd invite you to meet either me, or some of the people I've met in my life. I'm not sure why everyone jumped on the "LOLFAKE" boat, other than the first person did, so everyone followed suit.

As far as the submissive dominant, it could be just a different way of explaining that s/he is a switch. I'm submissive to a few people, and am perfectly happy to top others. Now... I'm not sure about the whole Sadomasochisticsubmissivedominant... too much of a mouthful for me to type out thanks... I may just stick with switch.

A submissive dominant could also mean a person who likes to top but who wants to be ordered to do it.  They submit to their partner by flogging them ...lol.  Who knows.  Unless it affects me directly, it doesn't really matter to me.

Sadomasichist is about physical sensation, not role. Submissive and Dominant can either be personality type or role. My guess is if someone identifies this way it would be as a person in a submissive role who has a dominant personality and is both a masochist and sadist. I know some of those, so they do exist.

In her own words, if this is the one in question:

Female Dominant, 23, Wellington, New Zealand

I am a sadomasochist Submissive Dominant. do not read that wrongly, i am indeed Dominant. Im not looking for anything at this stage. but feel free to chat if anything takes your fancy

Don't know if this clears things up but, since she is open to chatting, i suppose she is open to answering questions about herself and why she describes herself this way.

Sounds like English is not their first language.

However, people can both enjoy giving and receiving pain. Frequently without having any desire to get into power play. Sensation does not determine orientation. If it did, then all those biker types who come to the chili fest and eat the hottest chili would be closet subs. When in actuality, they just have burned out taste buds (IMO).

I prefer to allow people to self identify.  I might not experience them the way they do identify, but its their identity, not mine.  I don't have to relate to it to take them seriously.  I think its a bit short-sighted to make a lot of judgement unless you know the person well.

and when I read it, I thought "wow, fun!"

this post was NOT directed to anyone specifically

I interpreted it as a person who likes to inflict and receive pain, who is dominant in spirit and every day life but is (or wants to be) submissive to one.

I have on my profile that I'm a dominating bottom. That statement has put a lot of people's panties in a twist, but I'm all too glad to explain to others what I mean.
