First and foremost, while the use of multiple labels may appear to be confusing. You have to keep in the context in how they are being used. The best way to find out why somebody uses multiple labels is to simply ask them. Now with that said. There is an order of importance in the use of multiple labels. It's either in ascending or desending order. If I were to read "Sadomasochistic Submissive Dominant" on a profile, I would glance at thier orientation they have selected. Submissive, slave, switch, or Dom/me. This would give me a clue regarding the ascending or descending order of importance in the labels. If they list themselves as a switch, I would be expecting somebody a long the lines of a "Laura Croft" type of girl. A strong will girl that loves to play rough who is looking for a worthy Dom partner in crime. Pretty Easy, she's a Tomb Raider type of girl, not some quiet and meekly girl that wants to sit in the corner naked and caged at your beck and call. Remember submissive or Dominant can also define one's personality not just thier relationship role. If the person has listed themselves as a "Switch", I would suspect it's somebody who wants to be submissive to one partner, yet be Dominant with others. Switch in terms of partners. Also, this could multiple label could mean somebody who's willing to go between DOM Power Couple Mode, to being D/s. Could also mean somebody who wants to be DOM outside of the Bedroom and Sub inside the Bedroom, or perhaps the other way around. It's rather difficult to simply know in a heart beat what the other person means. It's best to look at the profile for other clues. If you are confused about it, simply respond to their profile and ask. Some people, are using Multiple labels to best describe themselves and not mislead other people. In terms of SadoMaso, they enjoy dishing out and recieving pain. Biggest mistake to make is to assume that their Maso side is strongly connected with a submissive side. Some people develop Maso sides as a means of defense against being controlled by other people and in fact can turn it this around. Basically, who wants to pick a fight with somebody who can withstand a lot of pain type of stuff. Basically, Masos have less fear of pain, and pain well is not a very effective method of trying to control a maso. Personally, I see a trend for perhaps a more of a "Laura Croft" Tomb raider type of submissive to be on the rising horizon of things. But that's just my own opinion. I tend to think this is perfectly natural order to the universe, even more so considering the number of "Doms" or those with "Dom" profiles that well franky are just assholes. So I tend to think some DOMs will have to prove themselves worthy of submission by these stronger willed, not put up with bullshit type of subbie girls. Again, this is just my opinion on the matter. Opinions are like assholes, I know, everybody has one. However, considering the rise of powerful female action heros in our society, and the large supply of batshit crazy Doms.. seems like a logical thought process. Think of it a bit like owning a Pit Bull, don't truely abuse the dog, if you do be prepared to deal with the consquences of your own actions. Anyways, these are my own thoughts on this subject.
