There are many other ways to explore your feelings, besides escalating practices of self bondage. What is important is to gain awareness of your motive and satisfaction from the activity. With that, you need not depend on ever more risky activities, to "beat the boredom." You can expand your menu and find greater fulfillment. Consider how caging is symbolic of other areas in your life where you you have felt trapped.

I would think that somehow there should be a friend or another person into bdsm in your area that could actually hold the key for you and check on you. It wouldn't even have to be a dominant. It could be another submissive with whom you could trade off key holding, if neither of you is currently with a partner at that particular time.

I mean, I'm just thinking. I used to play with submissive friends all the time in the past, because they weren't finding dominant guys they liked and I wasn't finding dominant women. So, it worked out for both of us until we actually started finding people.
