Does anybody have any experience with Seiko's new model, the S-Yard ES1080? What are the advantages/disadvantages vs. their original one (S-Yard ES-412)? The new one has a rechargeable battery, looks a little larger, and I think has a re-designed screen. Can anyone give a review?

Well crap. I didn't know there was a new one. I just ordered the older model having read (I think it was yours, it was under Ask a Sub/something about shaving) a post about it. Hmph. Hopefully it isn't much different lol.

It looks like the shape of the handle is different and "different foil thicknesses and coatings were tried until the right blend of safety, comfort and effectiveness was obtained". Also the price is around a hundred bucks, that is seriously out of my league for something like a shaver! I'm curious, how long do you go between shaves? Do you need to everyday using the Seiko? I am so lazy and I detest shaving/hair removal tediousness.

It was blueskyboy and suessub that recommended the ES-412 in the "Ask a Submissive/Slave" forum. I posted a reply that mentioned there was a new one out, and asked if anyone had any experience with it. I got no responses there, so I started a new thread about it in "General BDSM Discussion", and a moderator removed it, saying that it was "Off-Topic", not BDSM-related. Pretty ridiculous, IMO, since they allow all kinds of threads about hair removal methods, but what you gonna do? Anyway, I've seen lots of people recommend the ES-412, but not a peep from anyone who's tried the new ES1080, so I have no idea if it's worth the extra bucks.

I just spent ten bucks on a five pack of Gillette "Sensor Excel" blades! So, what's a hundred bucks towards an electric shaver if you can get thousands and thousands of good, close shaves out of it. You do have to trim down very very short first (I got the trimmer that goes along with it) but the battery operated shaver works on girlie parts. It is NOT as close a shave as using a razor but I think the more it is used the better the shave.

Electric shavers do vibrate pretty extensively and I would be extremely cautious of dousing something plugged into 120 volts AC. [8\|]

okay, some things to consider...thanks camille. lol and DA...i was really actually just wondering about a close shave with no nicks on my girly parts, not if the shaver vibrates... wait, electric shavers vibrate?

Yeah, mine vibrates enough that I couldnt use it when I was having my dental work done... I still dont like it because it vibrates the hell out of my gums... Its practically a "face massager" Ive never applied it to the nether regions, but I think that my electric shaver actually puts out more intense low frequency vibrations than Britts little "2 AA cell" toy... I could totally see a woman cumming from the stimulation....

I can't use electric razors; they irritate the hell out of my skin. I end up with little red bumps all over my face. quote: I've thought of going electric for the same reason. I've been thinking about getting one of these for a long time now. I went electric about a year ago, with a Panasonic ladies bikini area epilator with a replaceable shaving head. The epilator option has been tabled, as it leaves me looking like road hash, but the electric shaver option has been golden. The trick I've found is to not let the regrowth get established, but to go over the area every day or two to keep things smooth before irritation can make the skin too bumpy for clean shave overs. I've been shaved bare for almost 10 years now, and this has certainly been WAY less of a pain in the nads than any of my previous methods. A better electric would improve this even more. As it stands, I've been asked several times if I wax :D
